What's in a brand? When your a one-woman-band and your brand is, well.... you. It can feel pretty daunting and vulnerable putting yourself out there. Having really clear branding and professional imagery really helps be demonstrate my 'strategic intent' without having to always rely on words. It evokes a feeling, a level of understanding and trust in my clients. I have recently tweaked my strapline/tagline to better reflect what it is that makes me uniquely me and therefore uniquely placed to offer you what you need. 'Where health and leadership thrive together' what do you think? I bring together (I think a pretty unique) a combination of my experience leading teams and instructing leadership as a major in the British Army and being a Resilient Leaders Elements consultant, with my clinical experience as a registered Nutritional Therapist. I am passionate about supporting female leaders to develop a strong foundation of physical wellbeing, centered around a healthy stress response and balanced hormones, on which then to grow into a leader that understand what takes them from pressure to stress, and importantly takes time to rebalance. Because it's only when we have this foundation that we can trully be confident in who we are and what we do as leaders, so we know that in times of uncertainty and even crisis we will find a way through. I deliver this in a number of ways, through 1-2-1 support either funded by an individual or a business wanting to invest in a personalised approach for their best talent, or by designing bespoke wellbeing strategies and workplace training programmes. It’s no secret that a brand communication plan with multiple channels is more effective than a single channel plan to build brands. But good to see some effectiveness stats in this article. Also highlighted in here is the importance of brand creatives developed with specific communication platforms in mind while working together as one brand campaign. The reality of ‘’smaller reach per placement and smaller attention per ad’’ also means brand owners and agency partners have to work even closer together when planning and activating brand communication strategies as well as find ways to maximise content production budgets. A tricky yet exciting challenge for Marketers and agencies across industries. #marketing #marketingskills #brandbuilding

Great day yesterday at the B2B Leaders Forum with Propolis and B2B Marketing. A feast of B2B chat from which I’d pick out four ‘provocations’: 🙋‍♂️ The favourite in the room. Inbox Insight shared some research into buyer behaviour that reinforces much of what we’re hearing. The headline was that being the “favourite" in the metaphorical room containing the buying committee was the key to success. And that means engaging early and widely with the whole committee. To my previous posts, it’s also about being ‘culturally relevant’ as well as a known brand. 💱 Revenue quality matters as much as quantity. Great session on speaking the language of the CFO with an actual CFO. A good jumping off point for collective strategizing is to ask about what makes good, disproportionately valuable revenue. 👂 Spend time with customers! More important than ever to be voice of the customer but very few marketers and their teams have regular direct access to customers. Speaking to them is where you learn the all-important tacit insights about what matters (you can't hear the tension in their voice in a survey!). 📉 Marketing strategy is about resilience as well as growth, easy to lose that in the clamour. The venue (Royal Society of Arts House) was also extraordinary with wall paintings by Thomas Gainsborough and Joshua Reynolds among others! Here's a career confession for you: when I first joined the marketing world over a decade ago, I had no idea that there was a distinction between B2B and B2C marketing. I probably was familiar with the terms, but it never occurred to me that they were wholly separate disciplines, and that B2B organisations required an entirely different strategy for persuading the same people in one context to buy their products in another context... Fast forward 10 years working in B2B marketing, whilst interacting with and consuming many B2C brands, and I still think the distinction creates more problems than it solves, and there's plenty for both 'sides' to learn from each other regardless.
