  • The fact is… education changes everything. But the reality is… 119 million girls are out of school right now. Imagine if they all had access to education. 📚 Healthier families - A child born to a mother who can read is 50% more likely to survive beyond age 5. 💰 Stronger economies - Every additional year of school boosts a girl’s future earnings by up to 20%. 🛡️ Less violence - Educated girls are less likely to become child brides or experience intimate partner violence. Education isn’t just about books - it’s about rewriting futures. When you sponsor a girl, you help her stay in school, break cycles of poverty, and become a leader in her community. We need 1,000 sponsors by 11 October, International Day of the Girl. Be the reason a girl can thrive. Sponsor a girl today > wvi.org/1000Girls #1000Girls

World Vision is calling and praying for immediate peace and lifesaving aid to reach the children of Gaza and those living in the most conflict affected areas of the world. The images of starving children anywhere in the world breaks the heart of God. In 2023, World Vision launched a global campaign to ensure no child goes hungry and we continue to do all we can to raise the resources needed to respond in the places we serve. 🙏

  • Imagine having to choose between your education and your dignity – what choice would you make? The reality for girls like Glory in rural Tanzania is that, every month, they feel such shame during their periods that they are staying home instead. At school, there are no private toilets or menstrual supplies, so many girls - even those who were once at top of their class - miss weeks of school each year. That’s enough to impact their future. But thanks to sponsorship, Glory’s school has two new toilet blocks with doors on every cubicle and a girls’ block with access to hygienic disposal areas, a sink with water, and a cupboard with emergency sanitary pads. Boys and girls are learning about growing bodies, puberty and menstruation to end stigma. Today, Glory never has to miss a day of school putting her future back on track. But there are still millions of girls who are out of school. Your sponsorship can help girls return to the classroom, no matter the barrier. Because when girls stay in school, they rise. And when girls rise, their entire community grows stronger. Join the movement to sponsor 1,000 girls like Glory. Sponsor a girl today. 🔗 https://bit.ly/3AmUGMT #1000Girls #GirlsEducation #EndPeriodPoverty

  • In a world where conflict and displacement are becoming the norm, children are often the first to suffer and the last to be protected. As someone regularly engaged in policy spaces, Bruno A., reflects on the urgent need for global solidarity to protect children affected by armed conflict. "From bilateral meetings with United Nations agencies and Permanent Missions to the UN Security Council’s annual Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC), one theme echoed loudly: preserving humanitarian access and protection for children is not just urgent, it is a non-negotiable collective responsibility." 📄 Read his full reflection & call to protect what matters most: https://bit.ly/4f5Mq9v #ChildrenInConflict #ProtectChildren #CAAC

  • 🎉 Please join us in welcoming Min Kim, our new Chief Audit Executive! Min returns to World Vision after 10 years as Head of Internal Audit at the The New York Racing Association, where she managed audit strategy and risk in a complex environment. She also remains deeply engaged with the internal audit profession through her leadership with the The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. In addition to her passion for advancing internal audit, Min also volunteers as the Board Chair of the Special Hope Network, an African organisation that serves children with intellectual disabilities. As she starts her new role, Min shares, "World Vision has always been close to my heart. Sponsoring a little girl in Ghana in 2003 and later meeting her years later showed me the life-changing power of hope. World Vision gives a future to those who feel forgotten. Returning to World Vision means I get to be part of that mission again, where hope is needed most." We’re thrilled to have Min back at World Vision and are eager to see her impact on our mission to help the world's most vulnerable children and communities. 🧡 #WeAreWorldVision #WomenInLeadership #ChiefAuditExecutive
