Statement regarding the Zelensky-Trump meeting The Ukrainian community in the UK and around the world stands firmly with President Volodymyr Zelensky and the people of Ukraine as they continue their courageous defence against Russia’s unprovoked and illegal invasion. The path to a lasting peace requires Ukraine’s allies to stand in solidarity to ensure justice, strengthen democratic values and bring peace with security for the whole of Europe. Ukraine’s commitment to sharing its critical resources, including rare earth minerals, demonstrates its dedication to strengthening global partnerships and advancing shared security and economic interests. Economic partnership must be underpinned by solid security guarantees to make lasting peace a reality. We thank democratic governments and their people in Europe and around the world for their military, economic and political support for Ukraine. They understand that Ukraine is fighting for its existence and for the right of all sovereign nations to live in peace. Russia will always seek to divide us but now, more than ever, we need to stand strong and united – for peace with security and justice, for democracy, and to show that aggression will never prevail. New mental health and wellbeing book for kids from Opora! 📢 We are excited to introduce “Mr. Corgi’s Guide” — a special book designed to support Ukrainian children who have relocated to the UK due to the war. This engaging guide helps children learn about British culture while cherishing their Ukrainian heritage.   Featuring Mr. Corgi, the guide is filled with fun activities, creative tasks, and questions that encourage children to explore their new environment. It also helps them reflect on their experiences and emotions, providing an interactive way to support their emotional well-being and adjustment.   📚 Who is it for? This guide is designed for Ukrainian children who have been displaced and are now adjusting to life in the UK. 🇬🇧 Today AUGB Deputy Chair Hanya Dezyk MBE, The Right Reverend Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski and Ukrainian Welcome Centre Director Andriy Marchenko welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi on a visit to The Ukrainian Welcome Centre in Mayfair. The Ukrainian Welcome Centre is a partnership initiative between the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family in London and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB). AUGB Board Member Bohdan Terlecky, a long time and dedicated volunteer at the Centre was also present. Director Andriy Marchenko and Deputy Chair Hanya Dezyk explained how the centre had been set up two years ago to help Ukrainian refugees and how the centre has developed its services for displaced Ukrainians in that time. 🌻 🇺🇦 Сьогодні заступник голови СУБу Ганя Дезик MBE, Преосвященний Владика Кеннет Новаківський та директор Українського Центру Підтримки Андрій Марченко вітали Посла України, Його Високоповажність генерала Валерія Залужного, під час його візиту до Українського Центру Підтримки. Український Центр Підтримки є ініціативою співпраці між Українською Католицькою Епархією в Лондоні та Союзем Українців у Великій Британії (СУБ). Директор Андрій Марченко та заступник голови Ганя Дезик пояснили, що центр був створений два роки тому для допомоги українським біженцям, і як розвивав свої послуги для переміщених українців протягом цього часу. Згідно з багатьма позитивними відгуками українців, програма є поєднанням високоякісного та інтенсивного онлайн навчання. Впродовж її проходження ви безкоштовно отримаєте 100 онлайн уроків англійської мови за унікальною всесвітньо визнаною методикою British Council, а також допомогу з пошуку роботи. Тепер оголошено реєстрацію учасників для занять, що розпочнуться восени. Участь у програмі допоможе підвищити рівень володіння англійською мовою та дасть можливість отримати відповідний сертифікат. Взяти участь у програмі можуть особи віком від 18 років, що перебувають у Великій Британії за українськими схемами. Враховуючи велику кількість бажаючих, радимо не зволікати з реєстрацією. Ten students of St Mary's Ukrainian School recorded the soundtrack for the short film "Through the Eyes of a Child" by Nick Turner. Some of their voices are featured on ITV. You can view this deeply moving audiovisual story, as well as the main exhibition "Child of War" by renowned artist Arabella Dorman, at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral on Bond Street until 6 June. Address: Ukrainian Catholic Church, 21-22 Binney Street, London W1K 5BQ. Open daily from 10:00 to 16:00. The film features artwork and words from over 370 children who submitted their work through Beyond Conflict and their partner War Through Children's Eyes (WTCE). The exhibition showcases Arabella Dorman's new paintings, influenced by her recent trip to Ukraine (Kyiv, Bucha, Irpin), artefacts from a destroyed Ukrainian school in the Kyiv region, and collages of children's drawings and sayings from around the world.
