    NY World Tour and Mid-Atlantic Dreamin' back to back. Took me a minute to process and reflect. Nine months into the Salesforce ecosystem. Here's what's actually hitting me. The community is real. And I don't mean that lightly. The people in these rooms - developers, architects, admins, executives - still somehow make time to genuinely connect. Not performative networking. Actual human connection. That's rare and I don't take it for granted. There's a buzz here that you can feel in the room. Like everyone is working on something they actually care about and can't wait to talk about it. That energy is contagious. Nobody is gatekeeping. Every single person I've approached has been willing to share their story, what they're building, what they've failed at, what they're proud of. That kind of openness is what makes an ecosystem actually work and it means a lot when you're still early in the journey like I am. Nine months in and I'm still learning something new every single week. That excites me more than it intimidates me. Also, I won a raffle in Philly which felt like the ecosystem's way of saying "you belong here."   • Last night we proved something: the AI winners aren't the most advanced. They're the most consistent. No fluff. No vendor pitches. Just candid perspectives from CXOs and Salesforce leaders navigating the pressure to adopt AI right now. A few things that stood out: • Human-in-the-loop isn't a weakness, it's the strategy • Process before technology - always • Treat your AI agents like employees, not just tools • Winners don't have better AI. They have better habits around it. One exec put it well: "Building AI without strong architecture is like building a house without an architect." If you're trying to cut through the noise and figure out where to actually start with AI and Agentforce - this is worth 3 minutes of your time.     Exec Roundtable Recap: AI, Agents & What Actually Matters Right Now! Last night Third Republic brought together leaders across industries for a candid conversation on AI (mainly in Salesforce environments), agents, and the reality behind the hype. 1. Start Before You’re Ready AI can feel overwhelming, the possibilities are endless, and the pressure is real. But the strongest advice in the room was simple: just start. Even if it’s basic prompt usage. Even if it’s small internal experiments. Organizations that are winning are building momentum, not waiting for perfect strategy decks. 2. Use Cases Are Getting Clearer Two areas are emerging as consistent starting points: Internal efficiency → Automating policy lookups, internal Q&A, knowledge retrieval Sales enablement → Opportunity scoring, deal insights, win probability The first builds confidence. The second drives ROI. 3. Human-in-the-Loop Isn’t Optional Despite major wins (tasks going from 2 days → 15 minutes), there’s still hesitation around full autonomy. Every discussion circled back to the same conclusion: AI augments. Humans own the outcome. 4. Treat Agents Like Employees One of the more interesting perspectives: Agents shouldn’t just be “deployed” - they should be managed. + Train them + Give them context + Continuously improve them + Share knowledge across them The better the inputs, the better the outputs (no different than a high-performing team) 5. Don’t “Go Big”...Go Smart There’s a strong temptation right now to go all-in. The room largely disagreed. + Start small + Start internal + Build trust Then scale Maturity > Speed 6. Process Before Technology A consistent reminder: If your processes aren’t clear, AI will only amplify the chaos. The best analogy of the night: Building AI without strong architecture is like building a house without an architect - you’ll have great individual contributors (devs, admins, BAs) ie. features in a home, but no cohesive system, the plumbing isn't where it should be etc. 7. The Pressure Is Real “AI or die” came up more than once. CxOs are feeling the pressure to define an AI roadmap & quickly. But interestingly, the companies seeing success aren’t chasing hype… They’re building purpose-driven, use-case-led solutions (often with custom agents layered into platforms like Agentforce). 8. Open Question: Who Owns AI? A controversial take sparked debate: Should all system and AI decisions sit with IT? Strong opinions on and for both sides, discussion to be continued. Final Thoughts - AI isn’t a single transformation. It’s a capability shift. - The companies pulling ahead aren’t necessarily the most advanced…they’re the ones consistently experimenting, learning, and aligning.
