🍽️💬 Last year, groups of residents were supported to attend a monthly lunch club, led by our Occupational Therapy Team and Meath Ambassador Volunteers, to encourage social inclusion and conversation skills. 🤝✨ Over the past year, these monthly lunch clubs have nurtured new friendships, helped the people we support navigate difficult times, and provided plenty of fun, integration, and learning opportunities. 💜😊 To celebrate a fantastic year of lunch clubs, we hosted a special Afternoon Tea at The Hive 🍰☕ – and what a gathering it was! The Hive was buzzing 🐝 with cheer, chat, and a delicious selection of homemade cakes for everyone to enjoy! 🎉🎂 We are incredibly grateful to our supporters whose fundraised income makes activities like this possible. 🌟 The Skills Centre has so many fantastic sessions on-site, but the people we support also love getting out and about in their local community! 🏊♂️ Our swimming group had a brilliant session at Godalming Leisure Centre, with our amazing team of staff and volunteers on hand to transport, support, and cheerlead! 🎉👏 Swimming sessions in the community help build social skills, champion independence, and offer fantastic health and wellbeing benefits. 🏊♀️💪 💡 Who is our Skills Centre for and how does it help? Our Skills Centre offers weekday, skills-based activity sessions that promote social skills, build independence and confidence, and support people in developing a wide range of skills. 🏋️♂️🎨📚 We welcome day clients with learning difficulties, disabilities, or brain injuries who are looking for a friendly and sociable setting to learn and grow.
