About us
The Boatyard Distillery was founded in 2016, making it Fermanagh’s first legal distillery in 130 years. Set up as a gin distillery our goal is to be at the forefront of premium Irish gin distillation, whilst giving our team their best possible experience. The five years since those first bottles were produced has seen Boatyard grow from being a regional product to one of international recognition. We take great pride in seeing Boatyard being used by some of the most awarded bars on the planet, all the time promoting our home in Fermanagh.

“The world didn’t need another gin. But I believed we had something truly special.” - Joe McGirr On World Gin Day, we celebrate what set our course. From day one, gin wasn’t just a product, it was the reason. Inspired by creativity, guided by precision, and crafted with Martinis in mind, Boatyard Double Gin was born from a purist’s vision and 53 iterations of what gin could be. Here’s to the spirit that started it all and to doing things the long way, the right way.

Our Double Gin is made with our mix of eight botanicals, 86% of which are juniper. The “double” refers to our distillation method: juniper at both the start and the finish, for a clean, bold flavour that holds its own in a Martini, or any gin cocktail. Smooth, honest, and quietly confident. Award-winning, too, but we’re most proud of our process and the drinks it can make. #BoatyardDoubleGin #OrganicIrishGin #CraftedInFermanagh

Cheers to a Legend. This month we raise a glass to Stanley, our Distillery Host, who is celebrating an incredible 6-years anniversary with us! From day one, Stanley has embodied everything Boatyard stands for: passion, authenticity, and an unwavering dedication to people. He guides guests through the rich history of our distillery and brings the spirit of our story to life, doing it all with heart, humour, and a twinkle in his eye. Thanks to him, we have glowing TripAdvisor reviews. He's become a guest favourite and a true local ambassador. But beyond the 5-star ratings, it's his ability to make everyone feel welcome and to make a visit unforgettable, that truly sets him apart. From all of us here in the distillery, and from the thousands of visitors he’s welcomed over the years: thank you, Stanley for everything. #WorkAnniversary #DistilleryLife #BrandAmbassador #StorytellerInChief #CheersToYou

Welcome to the team Kate Lynch. Kate has joined Boatyard in a key leadership role as Head of Operations. Coming from an extensive experience in manufacturing Kate is a huge asset for Boatyard and will oversee our growth. Kate’s journey began at a local hero company, Encirc Glass. This is a company our founder Joe has always looked up to so to gain someone from that experience is perfect for us. Outside of work keep your eye out for Kate and she and her family love travelling the breadth and length of Ireland in their camper van.

On #WorldCocktailDay, we’re delighted to see the Boatyard spirits poured in venues we truly admire. That’s why we’re proud to see Boatyard Double Gin and Boatyard Vodka at the heart of so many martinis being served in some of our favorite venues. To every bar, bartender and team that continues to choose Boatyard, thank you for making our spirit part of your craft.
