Backed by a $2.8 million investment from the TIER fund, SolarSteam Inc.’s project will implement a 1.5 MWt SolarSteam system with Sunamp’s Phase Change Material (PCM) Thermal Energy Storage (TES) at Base Element Energy’s oil emulsion treatment facility in Cynthia, Alberta. Utilizing their proprietary Design for Manufacturing, Shipping, and Assembly (DfMSA™), the system is designed for all climates and establishes a new benchmark for renewable thermal energy. This project will decrease reliance on natural gas boilers and incorporate a battery that ensures stable heat delivery, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and emissions reduction. As the first integration of its kind at this scale, SolarSteam’s project will transition from TRL 7 to TRL 9, demonstrating its readiness for large-scale manufacturing and commercial deployment. #ContinuousIntakeProgram #ERAFunded

Imagine going from waiting six minutes for hot water to enjoying it instantly - and saving hundreds of pounds on energy bills in the process.   Using the funding from the UK Government’s Home Upgrade Grant, Shropshire Council swapped old heating systems and inefficient hot water cylinders for Thermino heat batteries and Glen Dimplex high heat retention storage heaters in numerous properties throughout the town. The Thermino heat batteries & the storage heaters were paired to an Economy 7 tariff and charged by the cheaper off-peak rate. ♨️ ⚡   Elaine, a resident near Gobowen commented, “Absolutely fantastic - we used to have to wait six minutes for the shower to get to temperature. We couldn’t be happier with the solution. The water pressure is better and we have hot water in seconds. My husband is now able to have a shower straight after me, which he couldn’t before.
