When SBMC was launched by RBLI, we were set on becoming much more than "just" employers of veterans with disabilities/disadvantage. With thanks to the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) for their backing and vital funding and then 3 years' of hard work by all of our veterans, our training manager (Julie Scott) and our evaluation partners at Glasgow Caledonian University (esp Danielle Hutcheon and Carolyn McMillan) we proved that, despite our small size and fledgling status we could achieve some great things. We established SBMC as an Accredited Training Centre, opened ourselves up for scrutiny as individuals and as an organisation and overcame a whole host of challenges. Today we got the hard copy of the final report on "Accredited Vocational Training within Supported Employment for Veterans": An Evaluation of Impact within SBMC. We hope this is just the start and that our efforts here help sow the seed for further investment in accredited veteran development both here and across the UK. If you want a copy of our report, get in touch! #RBLI #Veterans

About us
Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, a division of Royal British Legion Industries is an exciting social enterprise based in Bishopton, Renfrewshire. In April 2023 the company won the King's Award for Enterprise (Promoting Opportunity). We manufacture a wide array of road, rail and commercial signs. We offer specialist waterjet cutting and engraving services. We deliver print including wide format, digital and flatbed, including mail and fulfilment services. We use the latest technology and equipment. The offer is one of quality, competitive pricing and appropriate response times. The additional offer is of course the offer of Social Value. We are the only signage social enterprise in Scotland. Buying your services from Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company not only meets your corporate social responsibility objectives but makes a real difference to the lives of many veterans, others with disabilities and their families. We provide employment opportunities for Armed Forces veterans living in Scotland, enabling them to work and develop independence in a challenging and commercially focused environment. We support those who, for whatever reason, find themselves some distance from the workplace. The social enterprise is a collaborative project between RBLI (who already run a successful social enterprise in Kent) and fellow military charity Erskine. The purpose is about creating independence through employment and Erskine has bold new plans for apartments on their village for those veterans needing accommodation as well as employment. The consultation teams have been overwhelmed by the level of support and encouragement from Veterans Scotland and many of its member Charities. We see this new initiative as playing a part in the much broader and positive support already being given to the Armed Forces Community in Scotland.

Huge thanks to HOCHTIEF for coming to SBMC from the "off". This is just one sign in a batch of 100s. Your commitment to our Social Enterprise and those who do likewise ensures we can continue to deliver our mission, enabling veterans and others with disabilities to regain their independence....thank you!
𝗔 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 🤝 Our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable business has led us to place our first orders with Scotland's Bravest Manufacturing Company (SBMC). We are proud to begin this valued relationship. SBMC is a significant organization dedicated to supporting veterans, disabled people and their families. By providing skilled employment and promoting social and vocational skills, SBMC enables its employees to utilize and develop their abilities. 💪 Pictured are employees Carl and Davie. After serving in the Royal Navy and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, both made the transition to civilian life despite some setbacks. Carl now takes on key roles in shipping and logistics, while Davie heads up the graphics and print department. Carl and Davie are two inspiring examples of a team made up of many highly skilled and dedicated veterans and disabled employees. The partnership support of companies like SBMC plays a vital role in providing people with meaningful employment and the opportunity to develop. 🚀 We are proud to be a part of this important initiative and look forward to working together to improve the lives of many people and create a better future. Many thanks to SBMC for the valuable partnership. We look forward to future successful projects! 🔜 #social #responsibility #sustainability #inclusion #partnership #create #future

Trust Housing Association recently awarded our social enterprise at SBMC the contract to supply and install their rebranded signage for all of their properties in Scotland – from the central belt to the Hebrides. We are exceptionally happy to work with Trust as they are a people-centric organisation with roots in philanthropy and their values very much chime with ours. Their trust in our work is hugely welcome business and helps us continue to deliver employment and development opportunities to our veterans. This video captures the whole process – from design to installation. #rbli #tommy #supportforveterans #sbmc #veteranemployment #socialenterprise #investinpeoplenotprofit #partnerships

We were so pleased that Robert Barr’s Charitable Trust approved our funding application for a PVC Automatic Roller Door at SBMC. In addition to making the workplace warmer and more comfortable, and making dispatch/deliveries far more efficient, it has improved the aesthetic of our factory enormously because it has a transparent panel which allows daylight in and we now have an outlook towards greenery in what was previously a dark corner of our factory. We are also very much looking forward to seeing a reduction in our energy bills as Autumn and Winter fully set in. #rbli #tommy #supportforveterans #sbmc #funders #partners #thankyou

Did you know that RBLI’s social enterprise is a provider of commercial signage? With customers in various sectors, it is not just in manufacturing signs for road and rail that we are market-leaders. A huge thanks to Meallmore Limited for a number of reasons! -#Buyingsocial -Supporting #veterans -Investing in #Socialimpact -This post! We were delighted to support your brand update. We loved making the sign: it looked great on the shopfloor and amazing in situ!
Marketing & Communications Business Partner at Meallmore | Building a Brand with Purpose, Strategy & Impact
A wee brand update from yours truly... We just installed this big ol' 3m x 3m sign at Meallmore Limited's soon-to-open Kelvinside Manor in Glasgow's West End, and it's a sight to behold! Thanks to Innes Kelly and Scotland's Bravest Manufacturing Company for being absolute legends and getting everything installed without a hitch!🌟 For me, this was all about making sure our Meallmore brand was front and centre. Pulling through our signature style and values, our years of experience and a 2000+ strong team while giving Kelvinside Manor its own unique identity. It's always super rewarding to see things go from design and concept to installation, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been sitting waiting impatiently all morning for that dreaded phone call or email pointing out a typo....😅
