A follow up from Colin: I’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of kind messages from everyone since I shared my story. I thought I’d take this chance to say that one of my second sons is running the Paris Marathon on 12th April to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. A special message from Colin: Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet the man who saved my life, Sir Chris Hoy. Last year, after hearing Chris share his prostate cancer diagnosis, Linda suggested I get a PSA test from the GP. Having no symptoms or family history, I assumed it would come back negative but to my surprise that wasn’t the case. After three months of tests including an MRI and biopsy, I was given the shocking news that I had prostate cancer. The next steps were to decide if I was going to opt for surgery or radiotherapy. I had my operation a few weeks later and in December I was given the greatest news, that I am now cancer free. If I hadn’t asked for that simple PSA test, things could be very different. I want to share my story because I am committed to getting the message out there that more men need to get checked. My experience of the NHS, from initial tests to surgery, has been faultless. The incredible teams were reassuring at every stage and made the process a lot easier than expected. Three weeks ago I celebrated the birth of my first grandaughter, adding to my two wonderful grandsons. Thanks to Sir Chris Hoy’s campaign, I can enjoy them with the peace of mind that my cancer is gone. Now please share this with the men in your family and let’s create more stories like mine. Colin x

We’re proud to have recently partnered with the team at Kitback and Street Soccer to design and build their new e-commerce website. Kitback is a brilliant social enterprise that gives football shirts a second life by collecting, upcycling and reselling donated kits. This in turn helps fund Street Soccer’s work in supporting people facing a range of challenges and barriers. Working closely with both Street Soccer and Kitback, we designed and developed a clean, easy-to-use online store that makes it simple for fans to browse, buy and also support a great cause at the same time. Kitback have also recently launched a limited edition football shirt in collaboration with Timorous Beasties. The tops have been flying out since launch and have already attracted support from a range of celebs, including Chris Moyles and the iconic Susan Boyle! Get checking it out on their site. It’s been a pleasure bringing this to life while helping support the important work Street Soccer do in communities across Scotland and London. Take a look at the site here: 👉 kitback.org.uk

It’s been a couple of weeks now, but a wee appreciation post for everyone involved in organising the recent Street Soccer Scotland Gala Dinner. It was a special night filled with lovely grub, great guests, inspiring stories, and good music! They also raised a fair amount of money which was the icing on the cake. If you don’t know about Street Soccer then get a look online at the work they do in transforming lives across both Scotland and London. Towards the end of the night there was a number of stats read out that detailed the successes they’ve had recently. The one that stuck out most was in relation to their prisons programme. Over the last year they’ve had roughly 200 people involved in this and not one person has gone on to reoffend which really is a remarkable stat and something to be very proud of. All in all, it was a fantastic night, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
