This is another key moment on the journey to Great British Railways, which is coming soon. Thank you to so many people in Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, DfT Operator and c2c Railway Limited, and our advisors and the supply chain, for delivering the transfer on-time and with the minimum of fuss. I couldn’t be prouder of the team. 😊
Today, we welcome c2c and its 746 staff to the DFTO group of publicly-owned train operators. They will work together with London North Eastern Railway, Northern, Southeastern Railway, TransPennine Express and South Western Railway, to collaboratively share best practice and to build a railway that works better for passengers, colleagues, and the country. c2c serves 26 stations with 322 trains running per day from its fleet of 86. Publicly owned operators under DFTO are now responsible for over 28% of the network – with nearly 500 million passenger miles, over 6,500 services running each day and more than 24,000 employees. Great to see one of our own Trustees Angie Doll speaking at the Railway Industry Association 150 celebration last night. In front of a packed audience, Angie spoke fantastically about the progress, future and opportunities at GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway), her vital work with the Rail Benefit Fund, and the importance of the Railway Ball—a key moment to bring the industry together in support of a great cause. Of course, she also spoke passionately about the role of Women in Rail and why the work we do is so important in driving inclusion and progress across the sector. Thanks to Angie for representing us so powerfully, and to RIA on their 150th anniversary. an incredible milestone and a brilliant opportunity to celebrate all the positives about our fantastic industry. #WomenInRail #RIA150 #RailwayBall #InclusionInRail #CelebratingRail

Congratulations to our Inclusive Employers member Greater Anglia, which has been given the silver award in recognition of their efforts towards a more inclusive organisation. Their commitment to inclusion starts from the CEO and it clearly shows in ther Greater Together Programme. YourVoice, listening circles and annual surveys are some of the ways they listen and respond to employee's comments and concerns. Greater Anglia has successfully created the Accessibility Customer Panel to improve customer experience. Their staff networks are engaged and creating awareness sessions to all staff and providing key recommendations to the organisation for institutional changes. Inclusive Employers has published a report for them with a set of recommendations for further improvement and they will be working on it. But for now, let me congratulate you on the fantastic achievement, well done Dawn Robinson and team (Stella Sutcliffe, Gemma Arnold, Ben Webb, Mervin R J Taylor) for all the hard work.
