"This is the future of transportation. Autonomy is going to play a key role in supporting current public infrastructure and the Harlander is a key part of that. How do we get people out of their cars, connecting to existing public transport networks and solve that last mile connectivity equation that commercially doesn't work today? It is the future and it is coming fast." Mike Dawson, People and Digital Transformation Director at Belfast Harbour ------- Harlander, Northern Ireland's first self-driving bus service, is officially up and running, driven by Oxa. Unlocking the benefits of autonomy today with software and services that enable any vehicle, anywhere to be self-driving
About us
Making breakthroughs in AI and deep learning since 2014, Oxa was founded with a singular vision — to build software that enables any vehicle to be self-driving, anywhere, at any time. We call this Universal Autonomy™. Who we are: A global leader in autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, fuelled by a diverse, multi-cultural, world-class team of experts in AI, machine learning and robotics. What we do: We build self-driving software and services that enable customers to deploy and benefit from autonomy in their operations sooner. Where we do it: We have offices in Oxford and Toronto, with a fast-growing team of 300+ employees and with customers and partners in multiple sectors across the world. Why we do it: Oxa is unlocking the power of autonomy for every organisation and person on the planet so that the transport of goods, people and materials is safer, more secure and more efficient. How we do it: We embed safety into everything we do. And by standing together on safety with our partners in the AV ecosystem, we are driving the whole industry forward.

How can you solve a complex logistics challenge with autonomy? We’re deploying a world-leading, UK first in waterside port automation at the Port of Tyne. Our autonomy systems will move containers between the dockside and container compound in a live, high-traffic environment. Safety, timing and coordination are critical. Delivered in collaboration with North East Automotive Alliance and others, P-CAL (Port-Connected and Automated Logistics) shows how autonomy can perform in real-world industrial settings. 🟣 A fully autonomous terminal tractor operating alongside people in a dynamic quayside environment. 🟣 Real-time coordination with cranes and seamless integration with Terminal Operating Systems 🟣 Remote operations enabled by a secure network This project is a practical step forward for port automation and a showcase of the future of freight logistics across the UK and beyond. Did you hear about the new autonomous public transport service running in Jacksonville, Florida? 🇺🇸 🚌 🤖 🟣 Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s autonomous vehicle service, NAVI (Neighbourhood Autonomous Vehicle Innovation) is the first autonomous public transport service in the United States 🟣 14 Ford E-Transit vehicles have been fitted with Oxa’s autonomy system 🟣 The service, operated and maintained by Beep, Inc., will transport passengers and connect residential, business and entertainment districts This deployment offers a live example of how British autonomy software can power safe, trusted public transport in complex, real-world conditions.

This is what “ship it “ looks like now. We’ve autonomised both these guys but the little fella is the one we can shell at one a week now. And just getting started. It’s been a good week. And in the US we carried our 1st 1000 passengers since one of our customers started a new service last week All driven by OxaDriver and Oxa and the Oxbots.

While Tesla edges into autonomy with its first real-world robotaxi launch in Texas, several European companies are already developing the building blocks of a truly autonomous future—from adaptive shuttle systems to underground localisation tech. We have profiled 5 such stand-out organisations — MOIA, GPR, Oxa, Imagry | Autonomous Driving and Dstl that will be taking part in the European Autonomous Vehicle Summit in London on Thursday 10 July. #ZagConnected Piece/event info on Zag Daily here: https://lnkd.in/eUY39z6X

Did you see us at #MOVE2025 last week? ⚡ It was great to see new innovation in areas like battery and charging technology 💚 We learned more about how legislators are driving the shift to sustainable mobility 🚛 We heard about the incredible achievements of customers like DHL Supply Chain who are using their scale and expertise to make impressive progress on the road to decarbonisation. And in case you missed it, our CEO Gavin Jackson took to the Keynote stage to share his thoughts with the panel on 'The Age of Autonomous.' "This Universal Autonomy™ platform that we're working on now is ushering in what we consider to be the Industrial Mobility Automation space, it's a new area that we're pioneering at the interface or the intersection of physical AI and business process automation. The companies that we serve all have giant fleets, they all service that need to move goods around the world and they all have optimisation initiatives. So autonomy really is inevitable for companies that move and ship goods around the world. The programmes that we have right now are really about enabling customers to take that from the early stages of deployment, all the way through to what we refer to as fleet-wide autonomy, and that's the stage we're in now in ports and airports, factories, energy plants and anything that is industrial." Thanks to MOVE: Mobility Re-imagined for having us!

Real-world deployment. Real-world impact. We’re proud to have supported the Harlander connected and automated vehicle (CAV) trial in Belfast Harbour, a milestone project proving how autonomy can work safely and effectively in complex, live environments. From rigorous safety assurance to real-world testing, our engineers helped bring this electric shuttle to life alongside partners including Belfast Harbour and Oxa, with support from Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Innovate UK and Zenzic. In a new blog, Michael Orgill, Project Engineer for CAV at HORIBA MIRA, explains why Harlander matters and what it means for the future of smart mobility in the UK: https://bit.ly/4njz4dw #CAV #ConnectedMobility #AutomatedVehicles #SmartTransport #HORIBAMIRA #SafetyEngineering #BelfastHarbour #HarlanderTrial
