tl;dr - Significant update to the Cyber Assessment Framework (v4.0) launched today As threats to the UK’s vital systems continue to grow in scale and sophistication, cyber resilience remains firmly in the spotlight. Today, the NCSC has published CAF v4.0, an updated Cyber Assessment Framework designed to help organisations strengthen their defences across our critical national infrastructure in the face of a growing threat. Key updates to help better manage cyber risks include: * Greater emphasis on understanding the cyber threat, including adversarial intent * New guidance on secure software development, * Enhanced coverage of AI-related cyber risks, * Updates on cyber threat detection and response. CAF v4.0 is one of the ways in which the NCSC is supporting the government’s proposed updates to the NIS Regulations through the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, which is set to be introduced to Parliament this year. It complements our wider toolkit of resources and programmes to support organisations’ cyber resilience, which includes Cyber Essentials and adversary simulation services.
