Did you get caught curiously peeking at a new role? 👀 This week, this question-asker is assessing their options without souring their workplace dynamics. This week’s question: "I’ve been feeling stuck in my role for a while, so I started looking at a new job. I’ve kept things discreet, but somehow my manager seems to have caught on. Their energy switched up on me – they’re hot and cold, less chatty, and just treating me differently. I’m now seen as a flight risk, and it’s made things super awkward. I don’t have another job lined up yet, but now I’m worried I’ll be pushed out before I’m ready to leave. How do I handle this awkward situation while I figure out my next steps?" This week, @Katie Cadwell, co-founder of branding studio Lucky Dip and The NDA podcast, discusses how to job hunt without damaging your relationship with your boss, which you can read over at the link below: Read the article now → https://lnkd.in/e7RsX4yQ Submit your own questions here → https://lnkd.in/eB6QSwZM Do you keep everything under wraps or are you super transparent? How do I tell my manager that I don’t want to be friends? ❌ This week, this question asker is looking how to put up professional walls without the awkwardness. This week’s question: "I’m lucky to have a great open work environment, but my manager, who is just about ten years younger than me, often overshares personal details and treats me more like a friend than a team member. To be honest, they remind me of my younger siblings and I really want to make a division. I want to keep a relationship friendly but I really need to establish professional boundaries without making things awkward. How do I set boundaries with my manager without souring the relationship?" This week, Katie Cadwell, co-founder of branding studio Lucky Dip and The NDA podcast, talks about boundaries at work, and how to establish them, which you can read over at the link below: Read the article now → https://lnkd.in/eBjk4ujs Submit your own questions here → https://lnkd.in/ePA6jKcJ Have you been in a similiar situation? Leading a small creative team through tough times can feel like carrying the world on your shoulders. 🏋️ This week, this senior is questioning whether or not they can handle a micro studio after hard cuts. This week’s question: “Our micro studio had to make tough cuts over the past year, leaving us with a much smaller team. As one of the last seniors left, I feel the weight of every decision, and the pressure to make things work is overwhelming. I care about my team deeply, but the stress of keeping the business afloat means I’ve been losing sleep, and it’s really catching up with me. Am I even cut out for this? How do I handle the pressure of leading a struggling creative team at this tricky time?” This week, Alex Bec (CEO of It's Nice That, Creative Lives in Progress, and If You Could Jobs), shares steps to handling the pressure, sharing the load and finding balance. which you can read over at the link below: Read the article now → https://lnkd.in/eXsr2rpV Submit your own questions here → https://lnkd.in/eDcB475u How do you handle the pressure? At If You Could Jobs, we’re always keeping an eye on developments that impact the creative industry. 🔍 Today, we’re diving into insights from the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, which analyses global labour market trends and we've looked into the particular impact on the creative sectors. Here are some key takeaways: • Graphic designers are among the fastest-declining jobs (p. 19). • UX/UI designers are the 8th fastest-growing job (p. 19). • Analytical thinking, creativity, and technological literacy rank among the most sought-after skills (p. 20). • 83% of employers report implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies, up from 67% in 2023 (p. 6). Interestingly, graphic designers, which were previously considered a moderately growing role according to WEF 2023, are now listed 11th among the fastest-declining jobs. This may reflect the growing capabilities of generative AI tools (GenAI) in knowledge-based tasks. (p. 26). By 2030, countries like Germany plan to actively embrace new technologies to remain competitive, with 81% of companies aiming to hire staff with new capabilities, these includes roles like Software Developers, UX/UI Designers, and AI Specialists (p. 71). These findings illustrate how rapidly the creative landscape is evolving, presenting both challenges and opportunities. For some, this is a moment to pivot and upskill. For others, it’s a call to explore new career paths or adapt within existing roles. Ultimately, human-centric skills like creative thinking, resilience, leadership, and social influence will remain at the forefront, ranking among the top 5 core skills for 2025. Read the full report here → https://lnkd.in/eGMwRaMW Further Industry Perspectives Here are additional resources to explore how these trends are unfolding: • These jobs will disappear fastest by 2030 as AI rises (Fast Company) Jennifer Mattson highlights that while AI impacts certain roles, human skills like critical and creative thinking, resilience, and agility remain in high demand.
