Industry 5.0 could redefine everything from education to enterprise to entertainment 🤖 On Tuesday, we convened experts at our #FutureTalks forum to dive deeper ⬇️ Taking place in Plexal at Here East, ‘Industry 5.0 – How does the UK get there first?’ saw changemakers from the worlds of technology, creativity, business, government, and academia come together to explore: 🔭 How will frontier technologies transform the future of the UK? ⚡ What challenges and opportunities do they present in the now, near and next? 🔑 How can we unlock their full potential to make the UK a global leader in this space? Against the backdrop of the recently launched ‘London Growth Plan,’ this saw Laura Citron OBE, CEO of London & Partners, discuss how frontier technologies are London’s next superpower. It also welcomed Sasha Qadri, ex-Sky News and Bloomberg journalist, to moderate a dynamic panel discussion between Tim Flagg, CEO and Co-founder, UKAI; Peter Crocker, CEO and co-founder, Oxford Semantic Technologies; and Angela Cross, UK Sales Director, Central Government and Defence at Dell Technologies. We were honored to hear from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan this morning as he launched his landmark “London Growth Plan” 🚀 “London has been resilient as a global city for centuries because it reinvents itself as the world changes, and in doing so, changes the world,” states the report. Serving as a bold blueprint, this report outlines four key ambitions for cementing London’s future of growth👇 ⚡ Productivity: Boost London’s productivity growth rate to an average of 2% per year over the next decade – adding £107bn to the economy and putting an extra £11,000 (on average, before tax) in each Londoner’s pocket. 🤝 Inclusion: Increase the income of London’s lowest earning 20% by 20% – reducing poverty and inequality to help to improve the livelihoods of millions of people across our capital. ♻️ Green growth: Expansion and decarbonisation efforts must come hand-in-hand – driving London’s green transition and helping to reach the city’s net zero target by 2030. 🌎 A global capital: Uplift the city’s services exports by 6% per year on average – fueling opportunity and economic growth that benefits everyone across the entire UK.
