  • 🌍March is #BCorpMonth!🌍 At Gravis, we believe that investing should be a force for good, driving positive environmental impact while delivering long-term value. Our work aligns closely with B Corp values, from sustainability to responsible governance. One example? Our investment in Inchdairnie Renewable Energy AD plant in Scotland. This plant: ✅Produces enough renewable gas to heat 2700 homes annually ✅Supports the circular economy - recycling by-products from local distilleries into green energy ✅Eliminates synthetic fertilisers by providing nutrient-rich bio-fertiliser ✅Reduces carbon emissions and helps decarbonise the UK's gas grid But we're thinking beyond today. With carbon capture technology on the horizon, these plants could play a vital role in the UK's net-zero future, storing CO2 permanently and supporting industries like sustainable aviation and healthcare. As we celebrate B Corp Month, we're proud that our investments can help contribute to a more responsible and forward-thinking future. #ImpactInvesting #ResponsibleInvestment (No information contained in this post should be construed as providing financial, investment or other professional advice and should not be considered as a recommendation, invitation, or inducement to subscribe for, dispose of or purchase any such securities. Professional investors only. 🔋☀️ Over a decade ago, GCP Infrastructure Investments became the first major backer of UK rooftop solar, funding 1,500 installations with a £15m loan. Fast forward to today, that early investment has supported around 50,000 solar installations, powering 53,000 homes. A great example of entering a sector early, securing strong returns, and recycling capital into new opportunities. The monopoly of real estate investment: Why control commands a premium 🎩🏠 A wave of private equity takeovers is sweeping through the UK REIT sector, with deep-pocketed buyers snapping up high-quality, income-generating assets at significant discounts. The appeal? Instant exposure to commercial property mega-trends like the ageing population, generation rent, and digitalisation, plus the ability to dictate development and unlock long-term value. Yet recent bids, like KKR’s approach for Assura, highlight a key question: Are these deals truly offering fair value? Many REITs are trading at deep discounts to net asset value (NAV), but a control premium, reflecting full ownership benefits, should be central to any negotiations. 🚨 Boards and investors must recognise that the value of a business extends beyond bricks and mortar. Intellectual capital, operational expertise, and strategic positioning all matter. If private equity sees the potential, public markets shouldn’t sell themselves short. Matthew Norris, Director of Real Estate Securities at Gravis, recently explored this theme in Investment Week, highlighting why control carries a premium in corporate takeovers and why REITs must push for fair value in private equity bids. The takeaway? Undervaluing control means missing out on the biggest wins. • 💜 International Women's Day is a time to recognise talent, dedication, and collaboration that drive success in our industry. At Gravis, we take pride in the diverse roles and talents that form our cohesive team - from investment specialists to operations, finance, marketing, compliance, and distribution. 📊 The industry still has work to do. Women represent just 12.5% of fund managers globally, a number that has barely shifted over the past decade. In the UK, women now make up 41% of the investment management workforce, but there is still more progress to be made. At Gravis, we believe that diversity isn't just important, it's essential. A mix of perspectives strengthens decision-making, drives innovation, and ultimately helps us deliver better outcomes for investors. This #IWD, we celebrate the women across Gravis and the asset management industry who are leading change, breaking barriers, and shaping the future. • 🔍How do you manage concentration risk in private credit and real asset investments? 👩💻For International Women's Day, Investment Week's The Big Question featured Albane Poulin, Head of Private Credit at Gravis, sharing her expertise on this critical topic. 💭Albane explains: "Concentration risk is key for private market and real asset investments since they are long-term and illiquid. If you are investing in a specific asset class, this is even more relevant." At Gravis, we take a diversified approach to infrastructure investment. GCP Infrastructure Investments holds around two-thirds of its £1bn infrastructure debt in renewables, across 50 investments and 473 underlying assets. This broad exposure: ☑️Spreads risk across multiple sectors ☑️Provides government-backed, inflation-linked income ☑️Ensures a reliable and predictable cashflow By investing early and establishing ourselves as early-movers, we secure risk-adjusted returns before markets become saturated. This #IWD, we're proud to showcase the expertise of women shaping the future in this sector. 👩💼🧑💼 Breaking barriers: Gravis's commitment to diversity in internships👩💼🧑💼 As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, it's more important than ever to recognise and champion the efforts being made to create equal opportunities for all. At GCP Infrastructure Investments Ltd, Dawn Crichard is helping Gravis in accelerating action on diversity within the sector, particularly in internships. The financial services industry has long struggled with gender imbalances and barriers to entry for underrepresented groups. But change is happening. By establishing internship programmes that focus on inclusivity, Gravis is ensuring that individuals, regardless of gender, background, or financial status, can access opportunities that pave the way for long-term success. 🙋♀️ Diversity: More than a buzzword 🙋♀️ Real change requires intentional action. That's why Gravis is partnering with organisations that support women, ethnic minorities, and those from low-income backgrounds. Through these partnerships, aspiring professionals can gain valuable industry experience, grow their networks, and take meaningful steps toward a career within financial services. Internships are a crucial stepping stone. They provide practical experience, mentorship, and a chance to prove one's capabilities. For many young women, breaking into the infrastructure and finance industries has been challenging, but initiatives like this are helping to level the playing field. 📢 A call to action this International Women's Day 📢 While progress is being made, there is still work to do. As industry leaders, businesses must step up and create pathways for talented individuals who may otherwise be overlooked. This #InternationalWomensDay, let's celebrate those driving real change. Let's commit to doing our part in making the financial world, especially asset management, more diverse, more inclusive, and more representative of the society we live in. Together, we can create a future where opportunity knows no gender.
