Enhancing Customer Experience Through AI: The Future of personalised Banking The banking industry is on the cusp of a customer experience revolution, driven by AI. Our survey reveals that 62.5% of banking leaders identify customer experience as the area most likely to be transformed by AI capabilities. This transformation is envisioned in various ways by industry experts. Svetlana Videnova, Tech Director for Data and AI, envisions AI helping individuals better utilise their money: 'Creating opportunities for individuals with no financial background to better utilise their money. This goal is more focused on the end-user, aiming to help them make the most out of their financial resources.' Sami Alsindi, PhD from GlobalLogic UK&I sees potential for hyper-personalised banking: 'Product customization is probably one of the key elements. I think we're at the stage where there are some recommendation engines incorporated, however sophisticated they might be. On Netflix it recommends movies, and in banking apps it might recommend products to sign up for. But creating completely customised, bespoke products for each user - identifying gaps and designing something new specially for them - that will take more sophistication.' Felix Hoddinott of Quantexa emphasises the importance of context in decision-making: 'Too often I go and talk to banks and they are trying to make a decision maybe on an individual transaction and they're trying to understand, is this transaction a good transaction, is it a bad transaction, does it represent a risk, a criminal or otherwise to the bank and they are focused just on that transaction.
