💥 BIG NEWS: Make Her Mark launches today! 💥 This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #AccelerateAction, so we’re doing exactly that. Instead of just talking about change, we’re making it happen with an initiative designed to propel a women-led business forward. ✨ What is Make Her Mark? Make Her Mark is a BADBERRIES initiative that will give one women-led business a complete branding package, on us. That means: ✅ A full brand identity, from strategy to design ✅ A strong visual system that stands out ✅ Motion design that brings the brand to life ✅ Clear guidelines to keep everything cohesive 🖤 Why are we doing this? Only 2% of investment goes to female entrepreneurs. That’s a real barrier for growth. We know branding can be a game-changer in attracting investors, customers and opportunities. So we’re using our expertise to give one founder the tools they need to move forward with confidence. 💬 How to apply? Applications are open until Thursday 4th April. If you’re a women-led business looking for branding that makes an impact, head to our website for all the details and criteria: https://lnkd.in/dnXyfQ8v Know a female founder who should apply? Tag them below! 👇 Let’s spread the word and help a brilliant business make her mark. #MakeHerMark #IWD25 #MotionThinking

Who cares about female founders? Does it *really* matter who starts a startup? Yes it does. (please forgive the hideous clickbait headline but this is important and below are ways you can get involved.) My thesis: More women in charge, with more money and power = world instantly better. In my industry we need to redress the balance. (+ create new funding models beyond VC.) I see so few women in my pipeline I have to do something about it. It’s not even a choice. I. Just. Must. - Roughly 20% of UK limited companies are started by women, the vast majority being lifestyle businesses. - In VC the numbers are worse, just over 10% are in senior investment positions i.e. holding the cheque book. - The UK has around 5000 female Angels which is just over 14%. Why are these numbers important? Women can build, execute and invest, often better than men, but they’re not there. NB Please don’t believe or perpetuate the 2% 'headline' without context, however the *real* backstory to that figure *is* meaningful - they’re just not in the system. Something we can change and here’s how... I met Emmie Faust from Female Founders Rise a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. Their purpose is to enable financial freedom for women through entrepreneurship. Boom. I was sold. In. LFG. -> Who do you know starting up? Get them to sign up at femalefoundersrise dot com -> Who do you know fundraising - Join the virtual accelerator, see above or click link in Comments. -> Who do you know that would become a Partner and financially support women in the community. FFR is a BCorp NFP with *all* proceeds supporting women - Current Partners include Google, HSBC, us and various SME’s and Corps. Partner packs from £1000-5000 per month. We need more women in the system. Building, investing, supporting, doing, hero’ing, sharing, coaching… creating circularity and balance. It’ll take a generation but so what. It matters.

Co-Founder and Director of Strive | Female Founder | Female Founders Rise Ambassador | Mentor | You'll find me speaking about events, employee engagement, mum life & wellbeing

Why is community so powerful? 👐 In September I joined a community called Female Founders Rise. 👐 In December I joined their Christmas charity networking initiative where I donated £5 to The Girls' Network, and joined a 30 minute networking call with another female founder. That founder was Sally Day, Founder of Saltoria Marketing. We had a great conversation, got to know each other, and naturally, connected on LinkedIn. 👐 In January, I posted on LinkedIn saying that we were recruiting for a Community Manager at Strive. Sally immediately reached out and recommended I speak to someone she’d met at a networking event who had really impressed her. Personal recommendations go a long way for me, so she had my attention. 👐 In February, we hired that person. 🥂 Why is this an important lesson? 1️⃣ Join a community you align with and ENGAGE with it.  → Don’t just join for the sake of it. Participate, give value, and watch how it comes back to you. 2️⃣ Don’t just connect with someone on LinkedIn for the sake of it, BUILD a relationship. → 10 strong connections > 1,000 surface-level ones. Invest in real conversations. 3️⃣ Lead with your company’s culture, not just what you do. → When you focus on values, the right people find you. Oh and we’re still hiring here at Strive Events Agency. Applications are open until the end of this week for our new GROWTH MANAGER. DM for more info ✌
