Working with The Land Agency, DHA Planning Group are pleased to say that outline planning permission has been granted by Mid Sussex District Council for the demolition of an existing dwelling and nursery buildings and construction of up to 6 no. custom-build dwellings on Cansiron Lane in Ashurst Wood. Whilst the site falls within the countryside, the #HighWealdNationalLandscape, and also within the 7km zone of influence around the #AshdownForest SPA, Officers concluded that there will be clear social and economic benefits from the development, including the provision of biodiversity mitigation and enhancements. This is the first custom build scheme to be approved in #MidSussex and as such, the application took a long time to be determined, as the legal agreement and conditions required careful considerations. DHA would like to thank the wider planning team below for their ongoing support with the application: Offset Architects Ltd RGP (FRA and Drainage) REEVES TRANSPORT PLANNING LTD Fellgrove | Ecology & Arboricultural Consultancy Leap Environmental (Land Contamination) If you would like to find out more about this scheme, or you have a query relating to a similar scheme, please feel free to contact DHA Planning's Mark Bewsey. #planning #outlineplanningpermission #selfbuild #newhomes #sustainabledevelopment #nationallandscape #ecology #ashdownforest

⭐ Planning and Infrastructure Bill introduces radical planning reforms ⭐ The Government's landmark PLANNING AND INFRASTRUCTURE BILL has now been introduced to Parliament. As anticipated, the Bill has introduced significant measures to speed up planning decisions to boost housebuilding and remove unnecessary blockers and challenges to the delivery of vital developments like roads, railway lines and windfarms. DHA’s Managing Director, Alex Hicken said of the new measures: “The new Planning and Infrastructure Bill is crucial tool in helping to get Britain Building again. For too long, delays in the planning system and the politics associated with it, have stifled growth and productivity. The powers vested in the bill will enable the new homes, new business premises and infrastructure so vital to both the UK Economy and communities to be delivered at pace” To find out more, please click on DHA Planning Group's article below.

DHA Planning Group are very pleased to announce on behalf of Aspire-LPP that the Planning Inspectorate has allowed an appeal for the erection of a brand new Care Home on land at Millstrood Road, Whitstable. After being refused planning permission by Canterbury City Council in May 2024, #DHA put together a compelling appeal case which culminated in the appointed Inspector concluding that the substantial public benefits of the scheme would outweigh the harm identified by the Council in respect of the loss of protected open space and impact on character and appearance. This decision is a significant step forward in addressing the critical need for registered care accommodation in the Canterbury district. With an aging population and a growing demand for high-quality care facilities, this development will provide 76 much-needed en-suite bedrooms, equivalent to 42 dwellings towards the Council’s housing shortfall. We would like to extend our thanks to the dedicated team who worked tirelessly on this project, including our client Aspire-LPP, and all the consultants who contributed to this successful outcome, including: * HPC (Needs Assessment) * RGP (Transport) * Emery Planning Partnership (Land Supply) * David Archer Associates (Arboriculture) * Ecology Solutions * Jenk Landscape Design + Planning (Landscape) * Harniss Building Services Solutions (Energy and Sustainability) * Charles & Associates Consulting Engineers (FRA) * Redmore Environmental Ltd (Air Quality) * Sharps Redmore Acoustic Consultants We are proud to have played a key role in bringing this project to fruition and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the local community. For any more details about this new development, please feel free to contact #DHAPlanning's Matthew Woodhead or Daniel Blake. #PlanningSuccess #CareHomeDevelopment #DHAPlanning #Whitstable #CommunityImpact #PlanningAppeal #SustainableDevelopment #HousingNeed #PlanningPermission
