About us
Vision: We craft inspiring and distinctive space where people thrive. Purpose: We design and curate long-life, low carbon, intelligent offices that contribute to London’s position as a leading global city. Values: We build long-term relationships. We lead by design. We act with integrity. Derwent London is the largest central London office focused REIT. We are a different kind of investor and developer; our reputation is built on decisive action in four crucial areas at the heart of our progressive business model. By championing advancements in design, sustainability, technology and people-centricity, we deliver inspiring and distinctive buildings where people thrive and communities grow together. As part of our desire to lead the industry in mitigating climate change, we have committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2030. In 2019, the Group became the first UK REIT to sign a Revolving Credit Facility with a 'green' tranche. At the same time, we also launched our Green Finance Framework and signed the Better Buildings Partnership's climate change commitment. We have science-based carbon targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our investment portfolio now totals 5.4 million sq ft and is worth £4.9 billion. Landmark buildings in our portfolio include 1 Soho Place W1, 80 Charlotte Street W1, Brunel Building W2, White Collar Factory EC1, Angel Building EC1, 1+2 Stephen Street W1, Horseferry House SW1 and Tea Building E1. The success of our business is down to a dedicated team. We are a diverse group of highly skilled professionals with a range of perspectives and corporate experience. In January 2022, we were proud to announce that we had achieved the National Equality Standard - the UK's highest benchmark for equality, diversity and inclusion. In May 2023, we were recognised on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list. By investing in our people, we invest in our business, ensuring we generate sustainable long-term value.

We are once again delighted to support The Story of Christmas appeal by organising a cycle tour, later this month, from our HQ, 25 Savile Row W1 to Brighton, alongside our consultants. The Story of Christmas is an annual charity event strongly supported by the property and construction industries. Great to see Michael Simons telling the story about what keeps our buildings connected, secure and future-ready. We're proud to be working with partners like WiredScore as we continue to raise the bar across London. Look out for our film with WiredScore coming in September.
Sat on the roof, loving the attention of the cameras, enjoying the sunshine and the view over Old Street. But also, feeling a bit guilty. We were filming a piece about Derwent London's long-standing relationship with WiredScore, surrounded by three of our SmartScore & WiredScore Platinum buildings. And yes, I was soaking up the camera time (new content doesn’t shoot itself), but being honest, I’m not the reason those plaques are on the wall. Our global leading, SmartScore Platinum streak (9 buildings and 5 more on the way) is thanks to the incredible tech stack we roll out across the portfolio, copy and pasting excellence across London’s skyline. The main runners and riders: 🥇 Johnson Controls Open Blue – 29 credits 🥈 The DL/App – 16 credits (bespoke > white label) 🥉 Yardi – 15 credits That’s 60 out of 90 credits in the bag without lifting a finger. Then we’ve got up to 9 other tech partners helping us bring it home Platinum every time. And a special mention for the rest of the team working quietly behind the scenes to keep our buildings cyber-resilient, ultra-secure, and connected like clockwork. Proud of the people. Proud of the product. And proud to be working with WiredScore as they keep raising the bar and setting the standard for how to make buildings smarter, more connected, and future-ready.
