Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities from all of us at Clyde & Co! Marked annually on 3 December, the day aims to promote the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of life. As part of our commitment to inclusion, we are continuously evaluating the way in which we work and introducing new initiatives to support an inclusive working environment whilst raising awareness of disability inclusion. Our progress in FY23/24: 1️⃣ Partnering with the Business Disability Forum on an accessibility and usability audit of nine of our offices across UK & Ireland. We’ll be prioritising improvements in physical accessibility and communications of available support and action, and kick-starting a digital audit in 2025 2️⃣ Welcoming three young people to begin a year’s internship with Clyde & Co as part of our partnership with DFN Project SEARCH - a charity which aims to make a positive difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities 3️⃣ Working with, supporting and training our HR and Recruitment teams through our Enable affinity network and our Global Workplace Adjustment Policy 4️⃣ Raising money for WheelPower - British Wheelchair Sport through our annual Stoke Mandeville Experience Day, as well as BASE (British Association for Supported Employment) and other organisations which help individuals and employers to embed inclusive recruitment practices The hard work continues in 2025! 📣 The Lord Chancellor announced today that following the review of the Personal Injury Discount Rate (PIDR) required by the Civil Liability Act 2018, she has decided to increase it to +0.5%. The decision to set the rate at +0.5% means that this is in force across all of the UK, with this figure also having been set in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
