A message from CAF Bank: We recently launched our new online banking system, designed to better support our charity customers and the vital work you do with more features. We recognise that the transition hasn’t been an easy process, with some customers experiencing challenges accessing or using their accounts. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and understand how frustrating this can be. Our team is working to support as many people as possible, and we’ve added more people to answer calls, but there have still been delays. We are also continuing to make technical updates to the service to fix identified issues. Thank you for bearing with us as we work to resolve these issues as quickly as we can. We are continuing to update these resources which may help you get set up and find what you need more quickly: - Our new banking hub: https://lnkd.in/e6yuCQQA - User guide: https://lnkd.in/ePKwWRhW - Frequently asked questions: https://lnkd.in/em48jHWJ

This year’s Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association Forum, under the theme “Power and Equality: A Balancing Act,” asked bold and necessary questions about philanthropy’s role in tackling inequality and re-balancing power. When we came together a couple of years ago to strengthen collaboration by creating the Philanthropy European Association we could not have anticipated being at this crucial moment in history. In a world shaped by longstanding injustices and rising polarisation, the gathering of 845 leaders from across Europe and the globe was an invaluable moment to pause, reflect and challenge ourselves, as individuals, institutions, and a sector. For Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), it was important to be there: to listen, contribute, and stand in solidarity with those working to protect democratic values and drive equitable social and economic change. I was grateful to connect with leaders from across sectors and borders, from NGOs and EU institutions to our CAF International Network partners. These forums matter not just for sharing insight, but for building the trust, relationships and collective action we need to shape a fairer, more sustainable future. Thank you to Delphine Moralis and the team at Philea for creating such a vital space for reflection and potential for faster progress. #PhileaForum #PowerAndEquality #Philanthropy #CivicSpace #SocialJustice #CAF #PhilanthropicFreedom #Collaboration Photo 1 from the left: Marijana Sevic and Neil Heslop OBE CAF, Rana Kotan and Güneş Engin TUSEV, a member of CAF’s International Network from Türkiye, Hannah Uprichard CAF and Luisa Lima IDIS, a member of CAF’s International Network from Brazil.

This is a positive and important step forward. At Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), we’ve long advocated for greater consideration of how dormant assets can be multiplied by philanthropic capital to deliver social impact. By working together across sectors, we have a real opportunity to unlock transformative investment in communities, strengthen civil society, and deliver long-term, systemic change. #DormantAssets #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #CharitySector https://lnkd.in/eEuHbu8X

The wealthy need to talk more openly about their own personal giving journeys in order to inspire their peers. If these individuals were giving 1 per cent of their investible assets, as the people at the top of the Giving List are doing, that would be about £20 billion going into the charity sector on an annual basis.
For the first time in three years, donations from the UK’s top 100 wealthiest individuals have increased, rising by £498 million to a total of £3.731 billion, according to the latest Sunday Times Giving List. At a time when charities are relying on a shrinking pool of donors to sustain their vital work, the professionalism of philanthropy is becoming increasingly important. As Edward Garrett, CAF's Head of Private Clients, explains: 💬 “Everyone’s charity is emotionally driven by something we read, a story we hear or an appeal that is made, and high-net-worths absolutely are driven by the same thing. But they also know they have a responsibility, given the level of charity they can give, to be more strategic.” By sharing their giving journeys more openly – as some do with the Giving List – these donors can also inspire their peers to consider the positive impact they could have. Since 2005, CAF has proudly partnered with The Times on the Giving List, part of the annual Rich List, tracking the philanthropic activity of Britain’s wealthiest people. It’s great to see influential philanthropists from the Sunday Times Giving List speaking out on how giving can evolve to create deeper, more lasting impact. Whether it’s working in partnership with the Government, funding for the long term, or being braver and more strategic, these voices are united in calling for a more collaborative and purposeful approach to philanthropy. As put by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), high-net-worth philanthropists have a responsibility, given the level of charity they can give, to be more strategic. That’s why CIFF’s founder, Sir Chris Hohn, focuses not just on the “why” of philanthropy, but also the “how.” “The ‘why’ of philanthropy is simple – every child deserves to be healthy and happy. I stay motivated because it brings me a huge amount of joy to see children flourish. The “how” of philanthropy is more complicated. If we are serious about making large-scale change for the most vulnerable children, we need to consider children's challenges holistically. That’s why my foundation doesn’t just work on what you might consider “traditional” children’s issues, but takes a more systemic approach, strengthening primary healthcare, enabling choice for women and girls, and tackling climate change.” - Sir Chris Hohn, Founder and Chair, CIFF Read more about the state of UK philanthropy in the Times’ annual Giving List, where Sir Chris Hohn is featured: https://lnkd.in/d7AX6Pxq
