Our theme for International Women's Day 2025, is #RemarkableWomen. In recognition of this, the Gender Equality Network hosted fireside chats in 9 different UK offices, and online for colleagues based elsewhere to get involved. 👏🏽 They welcomed external Remarkable Woman to each of these events to talk to our colleagues. This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the theme "Remarkable Women" by highlighting the inspiring stories of women footballers. Join us as we hear from members of the historic Manchester Corinthians Women’s football team, established in 1949, and FA legends Helen Ward and Jen Beattie MBE. Tune in to the conversation hosted by our Chief Inclusion Officer, Fiona Vines, to learn about the challenges they've overcome and the highlights of their incredible football careers.

We're proud to support East Kent Mencap in their mission to enhance the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Through our levy transfer in partnership with Babington, East Kent Mencap has hired an Assistant Accountant Apprentice who will bring essential skills to their team. "We sought an individual with forward-thinking ideas, fresh perspectives, and the ability to challenge our current working practices. This person will help us transition our business to the digital era and propel it forward," said Alison Stafford, Business Administration Manager at East Kent Mencap. This initiative not only strengthens East Kent Mencap's capabilities but also highlights our efforts to create opportunities that drive positive change.

The Gender Equality Network at BT Group kicked off our International Women's Day celebrations 2 weeks ago, by celebrating our own theme and recognising some of our most remarkable women across the company. Hundreds of colleagues gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 19 women that our most senior leaders wanted to recognise. It was an incredibly inspiring afternoon, hosted by our Chief Exec Allison Kirkby. Fab day at GSMA's #MWC25 today with brilliant outings from Digital at BT Group's Harry Singh and Hena Shamim Jalil taking the stage to discuss AI, next generation connectivity, innovation and more. Harry Singh joined Jeanine Vos to discuss how we're experimenting with and scaling AI to support improved customer experience across the Group as we go through our transformation. Great discussion spanning innovations in sales, service and operations and putting AI to really practical use. Hena Jalil joined Olivia Kinghorst, Mark Gibson, Rafa Camargo and Mikael Rylander to discuss the Innovation Blueprint for telco, talking about changing customer needs, and how AI, Quantum and next gen connectivity will change things for customers in the future. Today, we had the honour of welcoming the UK Government's Secretary of State for Business and Trade, the Rt Hon Jonathan Reynolds MP to our cybersecurity centre in Gurugram. As a business with long-standing relationships and investment in India, this visit highlights the importance of partnership between the UK and India – two leading digital economies.    We are excited by the potential growth a free trade agreement could unlock in telecoms and technology, and we look forward to contributing to a strong partnership between business and government to achieve it.
