🇺🇦 Ukraine and the United States took another step towards a just and lasting peace at a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Key results: 🔹 Ukraine agreed to a US proposal for an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, renewable by mutual agreement. However, this ceasefire is contingent on Russia's acceptance and full implementation. The US will communicate to Russia that its reciprocity is essential for achieving peace. 🔸 The US will resume security assistance to Ukraine and lift the pause on intelligence sharing. 🔹 Discussions on humanitarian assistance will begin, including POW exchanges and the return of forcibly deported Ukrainian children. 🔸 Both nations committed to long-term security and economic agreements, including the development of Ukraine's vital mineral resources. Grateful to our American partners for standing with us and supporting our path towards just and lasting peace. Ukrainian soldier Yanis Tereshchenko didn't expect to be a hero on holiday — but instinct and training don't take days off. While in Venice, he saved the life of a man who had been stabbed, stepping in when no one else knew what to do. Tereshchenko, a fighter in Ukraine's 3rd Air Assault Brigade, saw the victim bleeding profusely and sprang into action, using a tourniquet from his personal first aid kit to stop the bleeding and keep the man conscious until paramedics arrived. 💬 'People were confused and nobody intervened. Unfortunately, after everything I'd seen in war, I had no doubt about stepping in.' A former teacher, Tereshchenko joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. He was on a short leave and had travelled to Italy, a country he visits whenever possible. Another reminder that Ukraine's defenders are heroes — on and off the battlefield 💙💛

❤️✨A touching wedding ceremony took place at the Superhumans rehabilitation centre in Lviv as Mykhailo, a Ukrainian soldier severely wounded in battle, married his partner Vladyslava. Mykhailo served in the 79th Air Assault Brigade and was wounded when his vehicle hit an anti-tank mine. He sustained severe leg injuries and lost an eye. The couple have been together for four years. It was difficult for Vladyslava when, a year and a half ago, Mykhailo made the decision to go to the front, but she has always been proud of his choice. Mykhailo had planned to propose, involving friends and preparing a surprise. His injury delayed his plans, but it also reinforced his certainty – he had chosen the right person. Throughout his treatment and rehabilitation, Vladyslava stood by his side, supporting and caring for him. She took charge of organising the wedding, as Mykhailo is still undergoing rehabilitation. In the midst of war, their bond remained strong, proving that even in the most difficult circumstances, true love can prevail. Photos: libkos / Instagram

Today, 10 March, Ukraine celebrates National Anthem Day. More than just a song, it is a symbol of our freedom, resilience and identity. Sung in times of triumph and hardship, it has united generations of Ukrainians and reminded the world that Ukraine was, is and will be 💙💛 First performed 160 years ago, the anthem has echoed throughout history — from the struggle for independence to today's fight for existence. At the heart of the anthem is #volia — a uniquely Ukrainian concept that means both will and freedom. Volia is the force that drives us to resist, to fight and to stay true to our values. It is our determination to be free, whatever the cost. 🇺🇦 No force can silence a nation that sings for its freedom.

Starting her competition at 1.92m, she cleared 1.95m, 1.97m and 1.99m to secure her place at the top. 🖋️ Today, 9 March, we celebrate the birthday of Taras Shevchenko — Ukraine's great poet, artist and national icon. More than a literary genius, he was a revolutionary voice, a fighter for freedom and a symbol of Ukraine's unbreakable spirit. Born in 1814, Shevchenko defied the odds. His talent for painting helped him win his freedom from serfdom, but it was his words that made him immortal. He spoke out against oppression, injustice and serfdom, condemning a system that treated Ukrainians as property. 📖 His poetry exposed the cruelty of imperial rule and dreamed of a Ukraine where people were free in both body and spirit. His masterpiece, Kobzar, became the heartbeat of Ukrainian identity and resistance. Shevchenko's legacy was so powerful that the Russian Empire feared his words, exiled him and banned him from writing. But the oppression only made his voice stronger. His poetry has inspired generations, from the Ukrainian independence movement to today's fight for freedom. Swipe to read Shevchenko's powerful verses. His dream lives on. Ukraine stands 💙💛

Russia's massive attack on Ukraine's infrastructure ⚡ Overnight, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone strike, targeting Ukraine's gas production and energy facilities across multiple regions. ▪️ In Kharkiv, a civilian facility was hit, causing a fire and damaging nearby houses. Several people were rescued and at least five were injured. ▪️ In the Poltava region, debris hit a residential building, injuring two people, including a child. Gas pipelines and houses were also damaged. ▪️ In the Ternopil region, an important industrial facility was hit and gas supplies may be limited. ▪️ Emergency services are working to restore damaged electricity and gas infrastructure. Each of Russia's actions clearly shows that it is not seeking peace, but terror and destruction. A just and long-lasting peace will only be possible when Russia is held accountable for the crimes it has committed. The democratic world must stand with Ukraine, because security anywhere depends on security everywhere.
