It’s Always Sunny Sets Season 17 Premiere Date, Offers First Look at Abbott Elementary Crossover — Watch

We’ve already seen the Paddy’s Pub gang visit Abbott Elementary from the teachers’ perspective — now it’s time to see the other side.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for Season 17 on Wednesday, July 9 at 9/8c on FXX with the first two episodes, TVLine has learned. FXX has also released a promo for Season 17’s crossover episode with ABC’s Abbott Elementary, following Abbott’s own crossover episode, which aired on ABC in January. (Read our recap here.)

In the promo, we see the whole school volunteer debacle through the eyes of Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Dee and Frank, with guest appearances from Abbott’s Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams, among others. Mac steals a brownie from a child, Charlie tries to assemble a boy band… and the gang makes Janine so angry, she punches a locker.

Season 17 of Sunny is dubbed “The Gang Embraces The Corporate Era,” telling “the story of how greed and the New American Dream have consumed Paddy’s Pub,” per the official synopsis. Sunny — which celebrates its 20th anniversary on the air this year — last aired in July 2023.
