Dan Abrams to End NewsNation Show
Dan Abrams is vacating NewsNation‘s 9 pm hour.
The host of Dan Abrams Live announced Thursday that his nightly broadcast will end in February. His time slot successor will be named in early 2025.
“Creating this one hour of television every night takes many hours each day. I take every word, every tease, every guest, every on-screen graphic personally. There is no such thing as mailing it in for any of us, including me,” Abrams declared during Thursday’s broadcast. “Three years after this… really kind of unexpected opportunity, I have reached the point where it is just impossible to keep devoting the time needed for this show while also running and growing my other businesses.
“As you may know, I also host a weekend show called On Patrol: Live that follows police in real time, I host a daily radio show on Sirius XM, and I appear on ABC News as chief legal analyst,” Abrams pointed out. “But [among] my on-air roles, I devote far more time to this show than anything else — and as hard as it is for me to admit, it’s just not practical to do this show all week…. So, this show will wind down in early February.”
Abrams assured viewers that he would remain at NewsNation in a reduced capacity, and ended with a message of gratitude for his “tireless” staff: “The hardest part of this for me will be leaving them. They are a truly talented and exceptional group, and I can’t say how much I appreciate the hard work they have done to make this show one we are all so proud of.”
In addition to Reelz’ On Patrol: Live, his duties at ABC News and his aforementioned Sirius XM radio show, Abrams serves as CEO of Mediaite and the Law & Crime Network. He joined NewsNation upon its launch in 2021, where his 9 pm broadcast has been sandwiched between broadcasts anchored by CNN transplants Chris Cuomo and Ashleigh Banfield.

Very sorry to see Dan leave. His show took an interesting out side perspective on stories. He has always been candid with his thoughts even if it is counter to the popular view. He will be missed.

Definitely. Only non antisemtic centralist broadcasters out there. It’s hard for me to stomach those other far left/right news shows out there.
And it was sad how A&E railroaded him with his show that was similar to op live but they kept court cam taking the stand neighborhood wars and other shows
Dan Abrams is a straight up man of integrity. I have followed him ever since News Nation started because I trust him.
Furthermore, I will say he is a good example of the people News Nation has brought aboard who honestly report what is going on and don’t tell you how to think.

Unless things have changed, I don’t think they ever defined who the moderate middle are. Yes, people can consider themselves in the middle, but that is totally subjective. once the moderate middle is defined, there are fewer and fewer in the middle.
IMO, NewsNation took a huge step backward when they brought on Cuomo, Geraldo, O’Reilly, and George Will.
IMO, Cuomo is unwatchable, especially with all that “brother” nonesense.
Dan is the reason I started and continue to watch NewsNation. It will be hard to replace him with someone that is as fair and impartial as he is. I wish him the best and thank him for weaning off of far right and far left news!

I like Dan, I agree with Dan most of the time. I respect Dan. I will miss Dan at 9 each evening. Thank you for being a major part of why I am a News Nation fan.

Bummer ..Dan was the original reason I even found Newsnation and he will be missed. While the line is he wants to devote more time to his other projects I’m doing the possible math. They just signed Chris Cuomo to a new extended contract and the parent company Nexstar already announced they are laying off 2%? of their staff across the board now that political is over. Ad budgets are down dramatically on all linear stations as dollars move to the streaming “black hole” while they moved all their sales services to a small in-house group who have to be stretched thin vs their former key rep firms Katz and Locality that had major infrastructures of sales teams to service clients. Such a shame.

Boo hoo, a millionaire is quitting. Let a common person get this time slot. Show that you live up to your moto, plus everyone knew Abrams was right leaning, and cried about the show he really liked that was forced to be cancelled.
I always look forward to two hours of intelligent unbiased news from Chris Cuomo and Dan Abrams. So I will miss Dan but, with so many irons in the fire, I understand that he probably needs to grab some z’s once in a while.
I will miss Dan, I like Vibbert very much and Cuomo when he is not pontificating, and doing his comedy routine with O’Reilly and there are some very good up and coming journalists. But Dan is the reason I started watching and he has set the tone and maintained decorum among the rest. His professionalism sets an example. I do not have a good feeling about NewsNation when he leaves.

Honest, Dan is my favorite news host.There is no other news show like his. It is very sad to hear that his show is about to end.
We can only hope that someone else comes along who has the same level of honesty and passion while reporting the news. Dan has a great amount of integrity and is one of the few reporters who is pointing out the many issues within our current political landscape.
In general NewsNation is the most objective and interesting news channel we have.
