What new faces are joining the cast?

Kill Bill vet Uma Thurman joined the cast in January and will play the role of Charley, “the head of security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater,” according to the official character breakdown. “A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.”
Game of Thrones vet Peter Dinklage will be playing billionaire venture capitalist Prater. “To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue,” reads the character’s official description.
Prater may even be the season’s main antagonist. We’ll update with more character information as it becomes available.
Krysten Ritter is also joining the cast as a guest star. The Jessica Jones alum will play Mia Lapierre, a famed sommelier whose alter ego is the “Lady Vengeance” serial killer.
Neil Patrick Harris will also guest-star as a character named Lowell. Details remain a mystery, but we’ll be sure to add them as they’re announced.
Additional castings were announced in February, with Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Chi), Kadia Saraf (Law & Order: SVU), Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) and Emilia Suárez (Up Here) joining the cast.
Mwine will play the role of Blessing Kamara, “a rideshare driver who radiates unwavering optimism and a man devoted to his family and community,” reads the official description. Saraf will play Detective Claudette Wallace, a razor-sharp investigator known for her methodical precision and unrelenting focus. Fumusa will play Detective Melvin Oliva, Wallace’s partner at the NYPD who is the only one that understands his quirky partner. Suárez will play Elsa Rivera, Harrison Morgan’s vibrant and determined friend and co-worker at the Empire Hotel.
Yes I will be watching Dexter is one of my favorite shows
Julia Jones netx, please!
How about Julia Stiles? She could see a pic of Dexter in the paper or something and show up concerned. I’d be down for that. I loved her one-off season of the original show.
We need Jennifer Carpenter ! Debra as the dark passenger was the highlight of New Blood. It is ok for James Remar to come back, but there is no Dexter without Deb.
I don’t know how she’d feel about playing a role that isn’t really a “character” long term. Like, as an actress, being Dexter’s imagined conscience is a role that never really evolves or presents new challenges. A miniseries is one thing, but I just don’t know how much attraction it would hold for her long term.
.
From a storytelling perspective, now that Dexter’s going back to killing people again, it makes sense his Dark Passenger would revert from Deb to Harry.
.
It’s such a shame the original series killed Deb off. But everything about how the show ended is a shame, so.
I mean, it’s not like she’s doing anything…
You are absolutely right. She was the heart of the show.
Fantastic! Now – we need Deb and Quinn, please. And a resurrected Lundy..
Can’t wait!!!!
Since in all versions of the show, the late Harry Morgan only appears in the past (as well as in flashbacks-from-the-past on “Dexter: Original Sin”), will James Remar and Christian Slater now both be playing the same character in the same time periods within the same fictional universe?
He also sometimes appeared to Dexter as a ghostly “conscience,” but that still was based on the person Dexter remembered from when he was still alive — which is now played by two different actors.
It is just like how in flashbacks on the original series he remembers himself looking like Michael C. Hall and not Patrick Gibson.
If The Bear is changed to drama for awards, then that means David and his wife would have competing shows (were DR to be nominated). Interesting…
He was also in The Bear, as her onscreen husband. Would love to see Liza in an episode of Dexter.
No “Harrison”, please! The annoying kid already spoilt “New Blood” for me.
Yes I will be watching I just love me some Dexter keeping coming
They should never have offed Deb. And they definitely need to bring back one of the big guest stars who survived the original series.
Well, he didn’t “survive” the first show but I thought I read somewhere else that John Lithgow might be coming back (flashback?).
Not sure what they are doing with the new show. Dexter is outed at this point. Which means even if he survives the premise doesn’t work. I could see them going an alternate timeline route where Dexter dies and wakes up in a different universe where Deb never died, Harrison was never raised by Hannah, Dexter never faked his death, and we spend the season catching up on how things did go down. We could even see adult Aster and Cody if they want to further explore the Dexter stepfather story. Beyond that, I don’t know how they can make a continuation work without a whole bunch of retcons.
They could go The Pretender route. Have him escape and then go help people while on the run. Of course his version of helping is quite different than the above.
I’m hooked on Dexter, I’m in the process of watching Dexter Original Sin. I watched Dexter New Blood, am looking forward to Dexter Resurrection, I was angry that his son shot Dexter, so glad he is alive. Will Dexters sister be in the new Dexter series?
Love Dexter and will keep on watching.
My head is spinning trying to keep track who is dead or alive.
Excited for this!! If this isn’t a limited series then maybe Dexter cuts a deal with Feds to help them catch serial killers? Can’t imagine they’re going fo have a trial and put him on death row.
so he’s not dead like some daily soap opera
Correct, the article states that he is not dead.
Looking forward to it even more so now!
Yes yes
I wish we could have more seasons of Original Sins. It would be fun to see Deb make it through the academy, especially with her language and hates being told what to do!
I didn’t like it because Molly Brown could never be Deb. No one but Jennifer is good for that. They don’t even look alike, the real Deb was tall and thin and so beautiful.
MCH is a phenomenal actor, I wish he’d taken off more in films but I won’t turn down seeing him in his iconic role again.
There’s no Dexter without Deb. At least as a “ghost”, as in New Blood.
Ah, man. I really hated the actor who played Harrison. Was hoping he wouldn’t be part of the cast.
I will watch this. But some of the names mentioned are fairly expensive cast members. Hope they aren’t sacrificing the quality of the show (writing, locations etc) for the big names.
