We are really pleased with how our son’s confidence is growing. Erin is helping him maintain his grade and preparing him for his GCSEs next year. She has been fantastic in ensuring he isn’t discouraged when he’s unsure and feels comfortable when speaking in Spanish. She tailors her lessons to cover the topics he’s currently studying, giving him the confidence in school lessons that he wanted. He looks forward to each lesson and always comments that each one has been helpful. He can go back and review each lesson to recall what was taught and Erin encourages this. Deborah has been helping my daughter with her conversational Spanish, in preparation for the speaking part of her GCSE Spanish exam. Deborah is an experienced Spanish speaker, having lived in Spain herself, and she currently teaches Spanish at a UK Secondary School. This enables her to pitch her lessons at the perfect level for my daughter’s needs. The sessions start punctually, with Deborah having planned the broad content in advance. They are primarily conversational, with English-speaking kept to a bare minimum, and it is gratifying to hear her informal, yet directed, and frequently funny exchanges with my daughter. Most importantly, Deborah ensures that my daughter says fully engaged and is contributing fully throughout, rather than simply listening passively or repeating phrases parrot-fashion. Grammatical errors are gently corrected as they occur, and Deborah makes good use of the Tutorful platform to show the spellings of any new vocabulary, to introduce unfamiliar phraseology and to display a variety of picture cards for use as talking points. Tutorful also make a video recording of each session available, which can be reviewed whenever required for revision purposes. My daughter looks forward to her weekly online sessions with Deborah and clearly enjoys their interactions. She feels that her Spanish pronunciation, her vocabulary and her confidence are improving each week, and that she is learning new ways of expressing her ideas. I have found Deborah to be a most able, pleasant and reliable Spanish tutor for my daughter and I am more than happy to recommend her services.
