Netflix is keeping it in the family with the Russo Brothers, as the streamer offered a first look at the duo’s upcoming film The Electric State. While they previously helped bring the Extraction franchise to life as producers, the sci-fi adaptation will be only their second directorial effort with Netflix following 2022’s less-than-memorable The Gray Man. They’re likely hoping that working with Netflix darling Millie Bobby Brown and perennial action star Chris Pratt might help rekindle the feeling they had after helming what was once the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Based on the trailer, though, they might be in trouble. As one Twitter user pointed out, The Electric State looks like it “might be the first movie that people forget about while they’re still watching it.”
But an already forgettable film wasn’t the only thing getting blasted by the timeline this week. Other digital burn victims included a GOAT turned YouTuber, fake fruit lovers and the ticketing platform that needs to take a long look in the mirror.
