Hello everyone! Nowadays, due to some online access restrictions in Türkiye VPN and Proxy usage have been increased in our country noticeably. We have many new users meeting with VPNs and Proxies. I wanted to post an article explaining What these technologies are, How they work, What are they used for, and explain the key differences that people are confusing a lot! CYBER KNIGHT ! Cybersecurity of Istanbul is entrusted to KOBIL GmbH, a company founded in Germany by İsmet Koyun. Let’s get to know İsmet Koyun and KOBIL GmbH more closely with the interview published in Forbes Turkey’s October issue. When you see him dining at a modest five-table restaurant in Ayvalık, wearing a cap and a simple polo shirt, it would be hard to guess that he owns the shiny Bentley parked outside. Yet, this natural and straightforward man is none other than İsmet Koyun, who, through his company Kobil GmbH, based in Germany, provides digital security solutions to some of the world’s largest companies, including Airbus, Deutsche Telekom, IBM, and even governmental institutions like the German Federal Parliament. The company serves the largest financial and insurance institutions in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, holding more than half of the total market in terms of user numbers. In 2023, İsmet Koyun announced that the turnover of Kobil Group, which also includes two food companies in Turkey under its umbrella, was 120 million euros. Of this, 45-50 million euros came from Kobil GmbH. The company employs 500 people across offices in Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, the USA, and the UK. Based on the financials shared with Forbes Turkey, the total value of his companies, excluding ‘super app’ platforms, is around 300 million euros. What makes Koyun impressive is not the wealth, which he doesn’t emphasize while speaking, but his impact on cybersecurity, which he proudly highlights. He credits his success to his “resilience” and his unwavering belief and persistence in the vision he has set forth. At the end of the path where this vision will lead Kobil, he claims his name will be mentioned alongside the likes of Google and Facebook.
