Being at her home in Noida and celebrating the first day of
Navratri with family was an ideal start to the festive season for
Mannara Chopra. The actress and former
Bigg Boss contestant shared with us that this year she is fasting for nine days for the first time in her life. “This is my way of saying thank you to God. My life has changed so much in the last year. To express my gratitude for whatever I have been blessed with, I decided to fast for all nine days.
She shares that she was looking forward to starting festive celebrations at home as “no place can match the vibe of Delhi during festive season.”
Mannara adds, “I remember in our childhood we would be so excited for this festive month. I used to participate in our society’s Ramlila. On kanjak, we would go distributing halwa, chana and puri. I loved doing
Diwali decor with my mom and helping her wrap gifts. In our school, we would have a Diwali mela and we would make diyas to sell there. I feel so nostalgic even when I talk about those memories. I also love going for card parties around Diwali,” she says, adding that this time on Diwali she is planning to be with her family here.
“Ye jo Dilli ka shor sharaba hota hai during festivals, iski vibe hi alag hai. No other place has that charm. When I was in Delhi, I would definitely go for pandal hopping in CR Park,” she added.

Mannara also went to Dilli Haat to do some festive shopping
‘Decided to wear ethnic all nine days’“I’ve work commitments and will be travelling a lot during Navratri, but I will carry fruits and roasted peanuts, and as long as I can have my favourite chai, I will be sorted. I have also decided to dress in ethnic wear all these nine days and have salwar kameez ready for all the days,” shares Mannara.

‘Each market in Delhi has its USP’Mannara also went to Dilli Haat to do some festive shopping before going to Mumbai. “I was a fashion student and I used to go to Dilli Haat very often. I went there after 10 years and the place is still the same. I also did some shopping. I bought Punjabi juttis as I think that they are perfect for any traditional look, I also gifted a pair each to my mom and sister. One thing I really like about Delhi is that each market here has its USP, each looks so different from the other,” says Mannara.
