A newly leaked video appears to show that Apple's upcoming iPhone SE 4, giving away its design, showing a traditional notch design rather than the newer Dynamic Island
The video, shared by tipster Majin Bu, reveals what appears to be a dummy unit of the fourth-generation iPhone SE. The said unit shown combines design elements from multiple iPhone generations, featuring a single rear camera setup similar to previous SE models while adopting the iPhone 14's overall form factor.
While the dummy unit sports the familiar notch design, it also showcases two significant departures from the iPhone 14's design: the replacement of the alert slider with an Action Button and the inclusion of a USB-C port instead of Lightning.
A physical SIM card slot is also visible on the device's left side.
Rumours are rife that that Apple's decision to stick with the notch design could be part of its strategy to maintain cost effectiveness for the SE line while differentiating it from premium iPhone models. The company is reportedly aiming to keep the iPhone SE 4's price competitive within its product lineup.
However, case manufacturer dummy units, which this appears to be, are often based on early information and rumors rather than final designs. These units are primarily created to test case dimensions and may not accurately reflect all aspects of the final product.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch by April 2025, potentially featuring Apple's A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 48MP main camera. The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to start at $500, positioning it as Apple's most affordable current-generation iPhone option.
