It was an unpleasant night for the citizens of the United States to see their
national anthem receive loud jeers at the
WWE Elimination Chamber.
The WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 Premium Live Event was a night of absolute shockers and game-changing events. The WWE Universe witnessed things that were unimaginable until some time back. However, it was certainly an uncomfortable moment for the United States audience watching worldwide as the Canadian fans in attendance showed no remorse to them.
The USA National Anthem was booed by the Canadian fans
The opening of the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 event, taking place in the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, saw Elizabeth Irving by singing the USA National Anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner.” This was met with clouds jeers and boos as Irving sung the entire anthem. However, when Elizabeth decided to sing the Canadian National Anthem, "O Canada", it was met with a highly positive reception.
Later in the show, WWE commentator Pat McAfee is at the commentary desk. McAfee slammed the audience by claiming that it was unfortunate that the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE was taking place in Canada. McAfee's exact words were, “the terrible country of Canada that booed our National Anthem.”
This comes as a really unfortunate situation as it was a clear sign of division among WWE fans between USA and Canada. It has been this way at many major sporting events too ever since USA President Donald Trump imposed high tarriffs of 25% on the imports of several Canadian goods. This has seemingly severed some ties between both countries and is becoming evident at such big events. Moreover, this also received a lot of mixed responses on social media.
Regardless the show went on as planned witnessing some of the most shocking moments in the history of WWE and has made the road to WrestleMania 41 highly unpredictable and must-see to watch.
