The much awaited "
Mr. McMahon" Netflix documentary debuted last week, thrilling fans who were keen to learn hitherto unheard tales about the legendary figure in the
WWE universe. Although a lot of people were expecting bombshell disclosures, the series didn't really give anything that ardent wrestling fans didn't already know about the documentary's main character,
Vince McMahon.
However, during McMahon's interview segments, popular wrestling figure Eric Bischoff saw something interesting. He pointed out that the documentary gained an intriguing element when the former WWE chairman seemed afraid to talk.

On a recent episode of his podcast "
83 Weeks," Bischoff remarked,
"It sounds like they really had to squeeze responses out of Vince. It doesn't sound like other interviews." This comment indicates that McMahon's responses may have been carefully curated rather than spontaneous, suggesting a level of discomfort or reluctance in revealing more about his life and career. Bischoff elaborated that he had seen some of the producers discussing the documentary and expressed skepticism about their ability to get McMahon to talk for an extended period.
"I couldn't imagine them getting McMahon to speak for hours because he's a hard nut to crack," he stated.

"Vince was very hesitant; you could see that. He thought through just about everything he said," he emphasized. The WWE Hall of Famer highlighted the absence of immediate reactions or spontaneous responses from McMahon, indicating that every comment was part of a "calculated thought process." This meticulousness reflects McMahon's longstanding control over his public persona, especially regarding the "Mr. McMahon" character, which remains apparent even in this documentary format.

Interestingly, McMahon has often expressed that he operates with multiple "computers" in his mind, each controlling different aspects of his speech. One computer manages what he says, another dictates what he would like to express, and a third exists to process the conversation further. Bischoff recalled a late-night meeting where McMahon articulated this thought process. While he hesitated to label the conversation as "creepy," he acknowledged that it left a lasting impression on him.
In a surprising turn of events, McMahon allegedly attempted to acquire the documentary from Netflix to prevent it from being released. Additionally, he issued a statement expressing his concerns about the series, arguing that it distorts the truth about his life and legacy. This assertion adds a layer of complexity to the documentary, suggesting that even as it seeks to reveal McMahon’s story, there are elements he wishes to control or keep hidden.
