At a recent press conference, the former captain of the Boston Bruins opened up about facing his former team of sixteen years, the Boston Bruins. Brad Marchand said, “It will be nice to go home…to see the guys and say goodbye. It will be weird to be there as an opposing team.”

David Dwork of The Hockey News recently shared Brad Marchand’s statement on X and fans are pretty emotional about it.
A fan took to X and wrote, “hearing the presser… it’s going to take him a while to adjust to being on a different team”, while another fan wrote, “I am NOT ready for this. KILL ME”.

A third fan wrote, “Kill me, I can't. 😭🫣”, while another fan wrote, “Brad Marchand still referring to Boston as “home” in his first media availability today with Florida. #NHLBruins”.
During his recent press conference, Brad Marchand also added, “Every player has a shelf life…[I’m] grateful beyond words for everything that organization has done.”
Brad Marchand being traded to the Florida Panthers has shocked his fans and teammates. The star player was with the Boston Bruins for sixteen years since he started his NHL career.
The Boston Bruins’ CEO Charlie Jacobs’ also released a statement as a tribute to their star player. The statement read as, "Brad Marchand, our captain, Stanley Cup championship and Bruin of 16 years, will forever be a part of that legacy. While we made our best efforts to keep Brad in black and gold for the rest of his playing career, he now embarks on the next chapter of his journey…”
