McDavid's linemates were changed up after mixed results, but Canada managed to score once again, but almost lost the game.
Team Canada needed to win in regulation to earn a rematch against the USA. Initially, it seemed like a sure victory, but Finland's comeback in the third period made the deficit too close for comfort. Connor McDavid said, "It was ugly. Ugly way to end the game, for sure. Closer than we would've liked, but I thought that for 16-15 minutes there we did a great job just kinda wasting time. But it got close for sure.Starts haven't been the issue for our group, we've been great off the start. But again, we let them back in late. But we found a way to get a win, and that's all that matters. It sets up a great one on Thursday.”
