Travis Kelce stars as the villain in Super Bowl LIX, as the Kansas City Chiefs return to their fifth Super Bowl in six years and aim to become the first team to win back-to-back championships. Fans are unhappy with calls favoring Kansas City and resent Travis Kelce's national celebrity due to his relationship with Taylor Swift, arguing that the Chiefs have become the villains of the NFL.

Travis Kelce likes being called the villain of the NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is in his villain era. The Chiefs are suffering from "Chiefs fatigue" among fans of other franchises. They can't watch games without officiating being bashed as K.C.-friendly, and haters want the dynasty to fall or wobble with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game. This has created a heated debate about the team's performance.
Kelce, however, doesn't mind the saying. Asked on New Heights if he and his teammates enjoy the villain narrative that has emerged, he stated, "I love it. At one point in time, it wasn't that." "You guys were the darling of the NFL," Jason, Kelce's brother and co-host, adds. "You're now the heel.”
"I'm enjoying doing this with the guys that we have in there because it's like it just makes us even more of a family," the tight end continues. "You just circle the wagons. People are saying whatever they want and they're hating on you, you just banded together and it just makes you appreciate more of what you have. Because people want what you have.”

Fans view Kansas City as the villain, supporting Philadelphia to prevent a three-peat. Travis clarified that the historic pursuit is not considered within the locker room. "It hasn't been mentioned one time, outside of being asked about it by the media," Travis said.
He added, "Everybody in the building is just focused on doing their job. That's how we got here. That's how we got the first one. That's how we got the second one. The only way you win football games and get to the Super Bowl is if you focus on the task at hand. And we got a huge task coming up.”

Kelce believes that the Chiefs can block out the noise ahead of the Super Bowl, aiming for an unprecedented third straight victory. The Tom Brady New England Patriots should be aware of this, as people often hate those who win three Super Bowls in four seasons. Kelce believes that haters can also be motivators, as they can't beat them themselves.
