“He’s fat”: Patrick Mahomes gets brutally trolled as he deals with personal struggles days after losing at the Super Bowl 2025

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, has been going through a pretty tough time ever since his team lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this month. A few days after the Super Bowl heartbreak, Patrick Mahomes’ maternal grandfather, unfortunately, passed away. Patrick Mahomes was spotted at the funeral but fans have pretty divided opinions about the star player.


Some fans feel that Patrick Mahomes could not give his best to the team which led to losing the Super Bowl trophy. A fan took to X and wrote, “I'm sure lots of players have stuff happen in their life but you should be able to play 60 minutes of football regardless”, while another fan wrote, “Nope, I can’t get behind this take. Biggest game of his life, he’s your star and the face of the NFL. He played poorly, no outside influences had a part in it. His O line got throttled and he didn’t react or handle it as well as he could have.”

Another fan wrote, “and he’s fat”, while a fourth user wrote, “Oh man so life is just supposed to go on hold for Mahomes during the Super Bowl and not everyone else?”
However, many fans of Patrick Mahomes also jumped to his defense and spoke about the personal struggles he was going through. A fan wrote, “He looked tired man. KC has been playing essentially an extra season with all of this postseason success.”

Another fan wrote, “I think some people forget that Mahomes literally just had his 3rd child a little before the SB and his grandfather was in the hospital. I’m not excusing his Super Bowl performance, but he did have a lot going on in his personal life. We don’t know how much it all affected him.”
Patrick Mahomes has not addressed these speculations yet and appeared heartbroken after the disastrous Super Bowl match. However, after the match, Patrick Mahomes spoke about the loss and promised to be better next time.
He said, "There's no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it's the worst thing in the world... it will stick with you the rest of your career. It's going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond from it?”
Currently, the Mahomes family is mourning the death of Patrick Mahomes' maternal grandfather, Randy Martin, who had not been keeping well for a couple of months now. Patrick Mahomes’ mother, Randi Martin issued a statement about the death.
