Even though the offseason has been over, the trade rumors around Nolan Arenado haven't come to an end. In fact, the trade speculations that were once concluded with the St. Louis Cardinals have once again been opened up by the Houston Astros for the third baseman. Here are the details on Arenado's trade rumors:

Nolan Arenado's trade discussions started between Astros and Cardinals

On Saturday, MLB.com confirmed that the trade discussions between the St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros had been re-opened for Nolan Arenado. The Astros' interest in signing the third baseman has renewed and Arenado could possibly wave off his no-trade clause to sign with Houston.
The trade news has created massive buzz on the internet, with fans getting excited for Nolan Arenado's trade to the Houston Astros. Amidst the buzz, the president of baseball operations of Cardinals, John Mozeliak was interviewed by The Athletic on Saturday. Talking about Arenado's trade rumors, Mozeliak said:
“I don’t feel anything is imminent. Can’t comment or chase every rumor."
Almost a day before John Mozeliak opened up about Nolan Arenado's trade, the third baseman talked about his "goals" and plans heading into the 2025 MLB season. Opening up about his "trade stuff," according to MLB.com, Arenado said:
“I’ve got a lot of goals, and I truly feel in my heart I can achieve all of them. I think about (the Hall of Fame) and I’d love to accomplish that. But just like with the trade stuff, when I start thinking about it, I remind myself that I need to get back to work.”
Nolan Arenado was drafted into the league in 2009 by the Colorado Rockies and stayed with the team since 2020. In 2021, Arenado was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for a whopping $51 Million contract. The third baseman has stayed with the Cardinals since then.
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed Nolan Arenado on a massive $260 Million contract, which the third baseman agreed upon in 2019. According to the contract, Arenado is set to become a free agent in 2028. Do you think the Astros would indeed end up signing Arenado?
