Gavin Sheets failed to ‘fit on the roster’ despite attracting Chicago White Sox’s interest 'at one point': Report

Baseball star Gavin Sheets is one of the most prominent faces in the Chicago White Sox. The 28-year-old first baseman made his major league debut with the White Sox back in 2021 and since then he has stayed with the particular baseball team.
Not many people know that the Maryland-based slugger Gavin Sheets had diverted the interest of the Baltimore Orioles, before joining hands with the Chicago White Sox this off-season.

Gavin Sheets has finally made a comeback to his old home. The talented baseman has joined hands with the Chicago White Sox for the upcoming season. He has been in the White Sox clubhouse ever since he was introduced to major league baseball back in 2021.
Reportedly, the Baltimore Orioles had shown interest with respect to adding Gavin Sheets to their team roster for the upcoming 2025 season. According to Roch Kubatko of MASN, the Orioles were eyeing the 28-year-old slugger during the ongoing winter off-season.
After Sheets went ahead with the Chicago White Sox, the Baltimore Orioles decided to move in another direction with respect to revamping their team roster for the upcoming season. Speculations around the White Sox eyeing potential first basemen in order to improvise the roster are doing the rounds in the baseball fraternity.

Gavin Sheets holds the record of hitting around 46 home runs in his 435 games in his major league career. During an appearance on the widely watched podcast Sports Spectrum, the American slugger spoke about his days at Wake Forest University and went down memory lane while talking about the moment he was drafted into the Chicago White Sox. While talking about his university days, Sheets said-
“Growing up I always wanted to play in the ACC as my dream school was UNCC and it was pretty crazy that it came down to UNC and Wake Forest. God led me to Wake. I trusted the coaches there, and the atmosphere so when I got drafted I knew it was going to take a sizable amount of money for me to go to pro bow and skip the experience. It worked out as God led me to Wake Forest and I am forever grateful as I loved my time there and my experiences.”
While reflecting on the time when he got a call from the managers announcing his entry into the bigger leagues, he said-
“The coolest part was getting a call from the managers telling you that you are going to play the big leagues and you know there were just so many emotions that you go through and you make phone calls to my wife, my family, my grandparents, everybody that was along with me in the journey.”
Gavin Sheets is one of the most popular power hitters on the White Sox team. With Sheets coming back to his old home, his fans and followers just cannot wait to see him on the ground.
