Max Muncy has been great friends with teammate Mookie Betts for good long years. Together, they have helped the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series Championship. As the Dodgers head into the 2025 MLB season, Muncy is excited to see Betts showcase his new "natural" skills on the field. In fact, according to Muncy, Betts is the "best athlete" he has ever come across.
Max Muncy praised Mookie Betts as the 'best athlete'
On Monday, USA TODAY released an interview with Max Muncy, during which he launched his praises for Mookie Betts. Muncy praised Betts and crowned him the "best athlete." Talking about how Muncy feels that Betts has turned into a "very good defensive shortstop," Muncy said:
“Mookie is Mookie, he’s the best athlete I’ve ever seen. He looks great out there. He’s starting to look more natural. Mookie is just different. This kind of challenge is really fun for him. He really enjoys it.""And when you look at how he approaches it, having so much fun trying to be as good as he can get, there’s no question in anyone's mind here that he’s going to be a very good defensive shortstop," Betts further added.
With the same publication, Max Muncy released another interview last Tuesday, during which he talked about the Dodgers' hunger for winning another World Series Championship. Opening up about Dodgers' mentality for the 2025 MLB season, Muncy said:
“We finally got the team over the hump last year, so it was a little bit of relief on that aspect. I know we won in 2020, but you want to get that full season one. And now that we did, we want to win more. We have the team to win more. So, it’s almost like we’re hungrier than ever."“I’ve always really felt that we kind of had a target on our back. Part of that is when you play at Dodger Stadium, it’s sold out on a Tuesday in July. Every (opposing) pitcher seems to find a couple of miles an hour. It’s always felt like that. People tend to find an extra edge against us," Muncy added.
