Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur has said Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton is “the perfect fit” for Ferrari’s setup for the coming season as he is now “more mature and experienced” as he was when he last worked with him. Vasseur had earlier worked with Hamilton in GP2 (now Formula 2) in 2006 and is now super excited about reuniting with him.
Ferrari principal’s comment on Lewis Hamilton as the seven-time world champion gears up for his new journey
Lewis Hamilton will represent Ferrari in the 2025 season after spending 12 years with Mercedes. Talking about Hamilton's growth over the years, Vasseur told Sky Sports, "He's not the same. He's 20 years older than when we first worked together, and everybody changes, improves, and develops."
"For sure, he's much more mature, much more experienced, and he's the perfect fit for the team today. That's exactly what I was looking for—for the team, for me, for Charles. I think it's the perfect combination," he said about the 40-year-old F1 champion.

Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari was officially announced in February 2024 and it turned out to be one of the biggest driver transfers in Formula 1 history. Hamilton made his first public appearance in Ferrari colors at the F1 75 Live event in London where he unveiled the new SF-25.
Pre-season testing is scheduled to begin in Bahrain, with the first race scheduled for March 16 in Australia. Frederic Vasseur has revealed that Lewis Hamilton has only done two TPCs (testing of previous cars) but his feedback is important. "Lewis brings his own experience and background. He will help the team develop in every area. He will quickly compare the two engines, the two chassis, and how we operate on track. As a team, we must not be shy. We need to understand where we can improve. That is my job and the job of the technicians," Vasseur further told the channel.
