India's Harshit Rana will have to wait until November for his debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
Assistant coach Abhishek Nayar confirmed that there will be no changes to the squad for the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai. Rana, 22, had joined the team ahead of the match starting on November 1, and despite his strong performance for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, he is serving as a net bowler.
Rana will be part of the 18-player squad traveling to Australia next month for the Border-Gavaskar series. Nayar said, "No additions to the squad. Every week is critical, every day is critical. We have not been narrow-minded in thinking about WTC final. We want to focus on this match."
Rana had an impressive year, taking 19 wickets in 13 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He was also called up for tours to Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh T20I series but missed out on his debut due to illness. Currently, he is part of the reserves for the New Zealand series.
