Yadagirigutta Temple in Telangana unveils first gold-plated vimana gopuram

In a first, the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta, experienced a momentous event as Telangana's first gold-plated Vimana Gopuram was unveiled by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. It was a historic moment as the temple has seen extensive renovation since August 2016. The temple was reopened in March 2023 and it now boasts of a beautiful new gold-plated gopuram.

The temple, standing tall at a height of 50.5 ft, the Vimana Gopuram is adorned with 68 kg of gold. It has now become the first of its kind in the state of Telangana. The addition of the gold plating has enhanced the temple’s beauty but also elevates its cultural and spiritual significance. This dazzling new feature has transformed the temple, making it a prominent landmark in the region and a symbol of grandeur and devotion.
About the event
The event was celebrated with much happiness during the Bangaru Vimana Gopura Maha Kumbhabhisheka Samprokshana rituals. These ancient rituals were conducted meticulously to ensure the sanctity and blessing of the temple and its devotees.
The event was attended by prominent guests. Along with the CM, other prominent figures such as Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, MLAs and MPs like K. Anil Kumar Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM’s Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, and Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department Shailaja Ramaiyer were also present.
The ceremony was presided over by Vanamamalai Peethadhipati Madhura Kavi Ramanuja Jeeyer, who guided the homam performed to invoke blessings for the temple. The rituals followed ancient traditions, symbolizing a deep connection with spiritual heritage and devotion.

This monumental renovation project has been a collective effort, with contributions from government officials, religious leaders, and the local community. The unveiling of the gold-plated Vimana Gopuram is not just a significant architectural achievement but also a reflection of Telangana's commitment to preserving and beautifying its religious heritage.
