The Earth is going to experience two partial Solar eclipses in the year 2025. The first one on March 29, 2025 and again on September 21, 2025. These eclipses will be visible to different parts of the world where the astronomical enthusiasts can enjoy this celestial sight

The first partial solar eclipse of the year will take place on March 29, 2025. According to reports, the timings for the eclipse will be 08:50 AM – 12:43 PM UTC . It will be visible in parts of Europe, northern Asia, north and west Africa, the majority of North America, northern parts of South America, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Arctic region. Specific countries where this eclipse can be seen include Bermuda, Portugal, Canada, the USA, Morocco, Spain, Greenland, Ireland, France, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Faroe Islands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. However, this eclipse will not be visible in India.

The second partial solar eclipse of the upcoming year will happen on September 21, 2025, Reports suggest, the timings for the eclipse will be 5:29 PM – 9:53 PM UTC. This eclipse will appear to be visible in south Australian regions, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. The countries that can observe the eclipse are Tuvalu, Tokelau, Wallis and Futuna, Samoa, American Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Niue, Tahiti, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Australia, and McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Similar to the first partial eclipse , this too will not be visible in India.

Safety precautions to be taken while watching an eclipse:


  • Use proper eyewear
It is recommended to always use eclipse glasses for the protection of the eyes. Regular glasses are not safe for viewing an eclipsed Sun.
  • Avoid looking directly at the Sun
During an eclipse, looking directly at the Sun can lead to serious eye damage. It is advised to enjoy the eclipse while only wearing proper equipment.
