At the time of the accident in December 2023, Li had been driving fast due to an emergency when he struck the young woman riding an electric bicycle. As soon as the crash happened, he rushed out of his car to check on her. Though she lay on the ground with what was later diagnosed as a broken collarbone, her first words to him were unexpectedly forgiving: “No worries.”
That moment left a deep impression on Li, who thought she was a remarkably kind person. Her parents also showed great generosity, choosing not to blame him or demand compensation. Wanting to repay their kindness, Li began visiting the woman in the hospital every day, gradually forming a bond with her. Over time, their conversations grew more personal, and just three weeks after the accident, the woman confessed her feelings for him.
