For playwright, director, actor and author Manav Kaul, Prithvi Theatre isn’t just a venue; it’s a sanctuary, a guiding light, and a home.
We caught up with him at the ongoing Prt
His journey with this iconic Mumbai stage began in 2004 when he performed in Peele Scooter Wala Aadmi during the Prithvi Theatre Festival. That same year, his first acting role in Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane also premiered on its iconic stage.
Manav reflects on the profound influence Prithvi has had on his life."I owe everything to Prithvi Theatre and Sanjana Kapoor. Thanks to Prithvi, I found direction in my life. Prithvi ke karan hi mujhe zindagi mein ek raah mili and mujhe pata laga ki life mein karna kya hai,” he shares.
It was Prithvi that ignited his passion for writing and directing. "I started writing and directing plays because of Prithvi Theatre. Whenever Prithvi calls, I always make time to create something special for the festival. It’s my home ground, my home pitch—it’s everything."

For Manav, Prithvi Theatre is much more than a professional milestone. "Prithvi Theatre meri karam bhoomi hai. I consider it my everything in Bombay. It’s my home,” he says with heartfelt reverence.
The Prithvi Theatre Festival, which has nurtured countless artists over the years, remains a space of inspiration and innovation for Kaul. As the festival continues to celebrate the essence of Indian theatre, Manav’s enduring love for Prithvi is a testament to its transformative power.
