Speculation has been rife about turbulence in the marriage of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who have been together since 2007. Amid the ongoing buzz, many old interviews and clips of the Bachchan family have gone viral on the internet. One such clip featured Amitabh’s statement from an interview in 2011.
In the conversation, Big B spoke about his decision to distribute his assets equally between his two children—Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan Nanda. As a result, Abhishek’s wife, Aishwarya, would also hold equal rights over his inheritance. Amitabh’s 2024 net worth was reportedly Rs 1,600 crore.
During the 2011 interview with Rediff, the veteran actor stated, “When I die, whatever little I have will be equally divided between my daughter and my son — there is no differentiation. Jaya and I decided on that long time ago. Everybody says that the girl is paraya dhan, she goes to her husband’s house, but in my eyes, she is our daughter; she has the same rights Abhishek has.”
