Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film 'Love And War' has been the talk of the town right from the word go. The film stars

Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Sharing an update, in a recent interview, Bhansali mentioned that the film is both challenging and significant for him. He shared the importance of taking his time is making it and utilizing the cast properly.
Since 'Love And War' was announced, rumors have circulated that the film is inspired by the 1964 classic 'Sangam', which starred Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali debunked these speculations in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, “You should not remake Sholay, Mother India. So, why would I remake Sangam?”
Sharing about his excitement, the director shared 'Love And War' is a special project, different from his usual period films. He shared that it’s set in modern times, without the usual period elements like costumes and horses, and even the music has a fresh approach.
He added that he is enjoying the process of making the film and he has a fantastic cast. Talking about Ranbir Kapoor, Bhansali mentioned that he is working with the 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' star again after 18 years.
The filmmaker also praised Alia Bhatt, mentioning that even though they recently worked together in the National Award-winning film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi,' he feels there's still more to explore with her. Bhansali said, “Still so much to tap into that chota packet bada dhamaka girl that she is."
The director further spoke about Vicky Kaushal and said that this will be the first time they are working together. “The love for them that I have, the love for me that they have, so far, is very very good. I am looking forward,” he stated.
He spilled the beans more about the movie, Bhansali shared that 'Love And War' is a significant film in his career. He mentioned that he has been working continuously without taking a break, and when asked if he feels tired or exhausted, he responds by saying that he feels rejuvenated instead.
He noted that 'Love And War' is a challenging film for him and emphasized that he will take the time needed to make it properly. He expressed his commitment to valuing himself, his talented cast, and his audience.
The filmmaker said there’s a lot of responsibility, so they need to make the film well. He also mentioned that the audience will have to wait until March 2026 to see the movie in theaters.
