Aamir Khan recently addressed the box office setback of his son Junaid Khan’s latest film 'Loveyapa' with Khushi Kapoor. The film, released on February 7, reportedly earned merely Rs 12 crore in total. In a recent interview, Aamir revealed that he was more stressed about the film than Junaid.
In an interaction with ABP News, Aamir expressed that he found 'Loveyapa' to be a good film and praised Junaid's performance. “As a father, I was ten times more stressed for my son's film. Two weeks before its release, I kept wondering, ‘Why am I so stressed about the film? It isn’t my film—I haven’t acted in it, produced it, or directed it.’ But still, I was anxious,” he added.

Unfiltered & Real: Khushi & Junaid on Life, Love & Anxiety | Loveyapa Interview

Aamir described 'Loveyapa’s release as a significant moment in his life. “This is the emotion of a father. I don’t know how to explain it.” He also shared that he often feels the need to do more for his children, which he believes is a common trait among parents. “Junaid will grow and learn,” he said.
The 'PK' actor further stated that success and failure are common in the film industry. He highlighted that Junaid is young and remains positive. Meanwhile, the original Tamil version of 'Loveyapa', 'Love Today' received magnificent reviews from the audiences and turned out to be a superhit.
Aamir confirmed that he is working on a romantic film with Junaid, set to hit theatres in November or December this year.
Additionally, the '3 Idiots' actor spoke about his dream project based on the Mahabharat and hinted at taking on a role in it. "It is my dream to make 'Mahabharat', so maybe now I'll be able to think of that dream. Let's see if I'll have a role in it to play. What excites me is children's content, I believe in India we make lesser children-related content, usually we import that from abroad, dub it here and release it. I want to make stories about children," Khan said.
The 59-year-old star said he wants to nurture new talent in Bollywood through his production ventures.
"As an actor, I do one film at a time and I'm happy with it. I'm trying to do more films as a producer. Next month I'll turn 60, and for the next 10 to 15 years I want to do more work and give opportunities to newer talent," Khan said.
On the work front, Aamir Khan will next be seen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. It is a sequel to his highly loved movie 'Taare Zameen Par,' which to date holds a special place in the hearts of the audience. Further, there are also rumours about him making a cameo appearance in the Rajinikanth-starrer 'Coolie'. Recently in a media interaction, Aamir said that he was depressed due to the failure of 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.
