Mere Husband Ki Biwi Box Office Collection Day 1: Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar starrer off to a poor start with Rs 1.5 crore debut
The romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi had a lacklustre opening at the box office, earning approximately Rs 1.5 crore on its first day, February 21. Facing stiff competition from Chhaava, the historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, and the Hollywood release Babygirl featuring Nicole Kidman, the film struggled to attract large audiences.
While Chhaava continued its dominance, collecting an estimated Rs 23 crore on Friday, Mere Husband Ki Biwi recorded an overall 14.86% occupancy in Hindi theatres. The film's underwhelming debut raises concerns about its ability to sustain itself in the coming weeks.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review
The film has reportedly been produced on a budget of Rs 60 crore, although no official confirmation has been provided. Given its slow start, the journey ahead looks challenging. Last week, the Hollywood film Captain America: Brave New World debuted with similar earnings but managed to secure a total first-week collection of Rs 16 crore.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Mere Husband Ki Biwi marks a notable second collaboration between Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bhumi Pednekar after their previous projects Sardar Ka Grandson and The Lady Killer. In the film, Arjun portrays Ankur Chaddha, a man entangled in a complex love triangle involving his ex-wife, played by Bhumi, and his current love interest, portrayed by Rakul.
Irrespective of the box office performance, Arjun shared that the entire journey from shooting ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ to “promotions and everything in between” was an escapade for him. In an Instagram post, the actor shared, “Bas ab woh din door nahi hai! the entire journey from shooting the film to promotions and everything in between was an escapade!”
“Not just coz I was working with my friends but also coz this film was just a laughter riot in itself! (sic)”
It remains to be seen whether Mere Husband Ki Biwi can overcome its initial setback and achieve box office success.
